So much BS about our season.

I believe we took on a manager like Jose with our eyes wide open. In as much as we knew he’d want money to spend. And we had a big shiny new money printer of a stadium to get us those extra tens of millions he’d want to get new players in.

I’ve no idea how much we are losing by not having fans in (seen reports of over £1m per match) plus no NFL, concerts, etc. But it’s obviously going to effect what we can spend. Looks like we aren’t alone, judging by the lack of action from the other clubs in this window.

I just can’t believe we would have hired Jose if we weren’t willing to really push the yacht out and give him cash. I also don’t believe we are going to get rid without giving him the chance to do what he came on board to do. He’ll have at least next season, hopefully after a busy window and then we’ll see where we are.
I still think his next job will be the Portugal national team. I reckon he will stay with us until that becomes available before a tournament he thinks they can win. Probably the 2024 Euros, which would mean he leaves us in 2023.

Fair enough.

I've been seriously disappointed with the way we've played this season but I am also aware we have the likes of Doherty, Dier, Sissoko and Winks playing a fair amount of minutes. A back up striker that isn't played and attacking players like Lucas and Lamela who aren't particularly reliable offensively.

I just worry that if we don't get Champions League football next season - are we going to be able to strengthen the squad with players Mourinho truly wants? Why would Sabitzer come in to play Europa League football (or potentially no European football?), what centre back can we realistically get that's going to come in and give us a Ruben Dias/Van Dijk type transformation that Mourinho wants? (Bare in mind both cost £60,000,000+ for their respective teams)

Which means, we'll likely sell Aurier, Sissoko, Lamela, Lucas and Sanchez for extra funds. Vinicius and Bale will go back which of course frees up wages. It's likely that Dele will also leave. We'd have promoted Oliver Skipp to the first team but our scouting is going to have be very very smart and shrewd - something we simply haven't been for large parts under Levy the last few years.

That’s possible, but I think we’ve got him for longer than that. I’m willing to give him a pass this season as every manager talks about how tough it is to keep players fit and to do any kind of training. Last night was a disaster, but I’ve seen green chutes before that.

I also think we will give him money to spend in the summer, as hopefully we’ll be looking at fans in the stadium and events going on there to pay for our spend. And it’s going to be a massive admission of failure from Levy if this doesn’t work. Has a whiff of the last roll of the dice for him and he’s not going to give up without a fair amount of kicking and screaming.

Finally, I believe that, no matter how we are playing, he’s someone who has proved, in the past, he can drag teams over the line and I am confident we will win something this season or next. That alone should buy him time.

However, it’s all belief on my part, so could turn out to be bollocks and he could be getting the “thanks for your efforts” handshake as I type this.

All fair. And the response I should have given to you instead of “yes, I do”, is above.

So we are just a stop gap for a national team?
No point sacking him now, but levy should be looking for a new manager, for the summer no matter what, we need a young dynamic manager, not a dinosaur.

His ego is doing alot of harm to the club

Who here would be happy with finishing 8th but winning the Carabaro cup?
For me we need to get top 4 and a cup , if we don’t get top 4 we have to win the EL

So much BS about our season.

As per the results above Jose is doing a fantastic job.
The last three losses can be very confidently said to have Aurier's fingerprints all over them.

We have 9 points from the last 8 league games you knob.

Who gives a shit if we beat a Champo side, a Champo side, a non-professional team, and the team in last place in the Champo.

Mourinho has proved he can manage in the Champo at least.

Last 8 league games:

Crystal Palace (A) - Draw 1-1 (Since then, Palace have won 1 game in 7 and lost 0-7 to Liverpool)
Liverpool (A) - Lost 2-1 (Since that win and before yesterday, they won 1 of their next 6 games)
Leicester (H) - Lost 0-2
Wolves (A) - Draw 1-1 (Including that game, Wolves have 1 win in their last 10 games)
Leeds (H) - Won 3-0
Fulham (H) - Draw 1-1 (Including that game, Fulham have 1 win in their last 12 games)
Sheff Utd (A) - Won 3-1 (Worst team in the league klaxon)
Liverpool (H) - Lost 3-1 (Before the game, 1 win in their last 6, not scored this year, 1 away win in last 9)

9 points from our last possible 24.
From 1st place to 6th place and 8 points off 1st.

Yeah, fantastic.

Support Mourinho, all you want - but to say our recent form is excellent is embarrassing.

6-2-1 doesn't make me blush.
We're not all shrinking violets.
Take out the Aurier feck ups and our form is great.

If we take out the Aurier fuck ups - the results are EXACTLY the same. We conceded MORE goals with Aurier off the pitch against Liverpool.

But sure, pad up our form with wins over Championship and non-league teams if it makes you feel extra special.

If we do indeed get turned over by Man City in the cup final - at least we can look back to January when we were the slayer of lower league teams.

I am just guessing.
If he is with us until 2023 I think that would be the longest he has stayed at any club so the timing seems about right.

So you are another "fan" who doesn't care if we win our games or not.
Taking out the Aurier feck ups our form this season is 22-7-2.
In fact make that 24-5-2.

Yes that 6-2-0 record includes 4 wins against 2nd division or lower teams, 1 win against one of the worst PL teams ever, and a draw to the 18th placed team at home.
