I think you need to explain who he is. Knutsen just won the league in Norway with mindblowing goalscoring attacking football. A bit like Graham Potter he might be destined for a bigger league soon.

Bodø-Glimt can be argued to have had the best season of any Norwegian team in the top flight through all times. Fantastic football.

Still, I don't know if we should be the ones taking on that risk.
Yep! I have never in my life seen such amazing attacking football in any professional league. They were like a combined Guardiola's Barcelona and Klopp's Liverpool

I like the cut of Ten Haag's jib.

But i think Levy follows managerial trends. French, Spanish, Portuguese so i expect he'll go with a German manager. They're all the rage apparently.

Rangnick's the guy I want - initially as coach to see us to summer then for him to move up and oversee a complete restructuring, and appoint a head coach under him, but I'd take Ten Hag no problem, I'd also live with Favre, Rose - I quite liked what I saw of Slot's AZ team, but he's already been bagsied by Feynoord.

The more important thing by far for me going forward is that we change our whole philosophy and structure, put in place some kind of long term vision for how we want to operate, create an identity as a club, DOF to oversee this, rejig the recruitment structure (players and coaches) to match this philosophy and don't change the philosophy when we change managers. If a manager doesn't fit the philopshy and structure then don't hire him (and have to change the philosophy, recruitment and structure etc around him, or make him work in a structure that doesn't fit)

Levy is a good businessman, a great administrator, but it's time he went back to the DOF model properly, get Rangnick in and give him carte blanche to restructure from the ground up.

I wouldn't even give him that. He's retired. He's been removed from the game for 7 years.

Even an interim manager is expected to come in and steady the ship. There are names available that have worked within the game in that time period.

To bring in Redknapp, even as interim, is showing negative ambition. It does not send the right signals for me.

I spoke on it in another thread but for me part of the appeal of Harry as caretaker is I want a guy that will be done at the end of this season no someone who thinks they will stay on or even worse get a few results and then we stupidly keep them on longer than we should.

There are lots of good options to take over but not likely until the summer. I want Jose gone now and a caretaker that can come in and provide some life for the boys and make football fun for them again. I really do not think anyone is currently enjoying playing at the club right now and the biggest thing we can get out of the last half of the season is getting that passion back so they want to stick around.

My concern about bringing in someone like say Eddie Howe is that they get us up to 5th, maybe win the League Cup final and Levy here we go we have our guy, when I think clearly that would not be the case. Now we likely go a year or two finding out that the short term success was just that and we actually have a pretty mediocre manager.

So while Harry is not ideal and been out of football for awhile, he knows the club and would be easy to move on from in the summer so we could get a top level manager then,

Ten Hag for me.

young (ish) been at Ajax since 2017, they play great football, he's managed the bayern II team as well so a good knowledge of their set up too.

history of good football, makes average players like Klassen and Tadic look incredible by virtue of the system .

constantly loses his best players and carry's on.

I think mainly it is that he doesn't play the style of football people want.

Allegri is a more modern day version of Jose. Bases his game controlling the game through a strong defence rather than all out attack.

Personally I have no problem with that. But I could see other fans feel that he doesn't gel with the "identity" of Tottenham for lack of a better word.

Allegri is easily the biggest free agent available, and I would not be angry if he ended up taking over one day.

Only problem is

I will defer to you on Rangnick's ability, although from reading around the internet he certainly seems to fit the bill for what we should be looking for.

But I do like the sounds of that plan seems like the direction we should be looking at and does solve the issue of who to bring in as a caretaker and most of the guys we would want are not going to be available now and hiring a guy because he is available is a terrible way to go.

My concern is whether Levy is willing to give away that much power. As you say he should and focus on what he is good and I am sure in his business dealings it is exactly what he would do but I am not so sure he will do that here.

If he’s on £15m a year wouldn’t we have to pay around £22.5m to sack him with 18 months left?

Having no CL next season will cost us more , however I think as long as we are still in the EL then Levy will keep Jose as there is a chance , however unlikely it may seem at the moment that we will win the EL. If we do then Jose should quit and go out on a high
