Would be a bit ironic if our starting CBs just ended up being Sanchez and Toby, which is what we thought it would be 4 years ago.

Played well again, especially in the first half.

Decent again.
Poor clearance which I know in the end didn't matter but it was very fortunate that it actually came off his hand , had it just come off his body for example goal would've scored and his poor clearance would've cost us.

Starts next game imo

A brainfart is a clearance that whacks an opponents hand?
It was a terrible clearance which he is guilty of very often lets not pretend otherwise.

The opponents hand was literally resting on his thigh, he wasn't gaining an advantage. Worked in our favour today but obviously a bullshit rule which will likely be changed.

Lets say the guys hand is out of the way and Sanchez makes the same clearance which hits his thigh and they score - is it a brainfart then?

Yes.

Just like if he turned round and whacked it in the back of his goal.

Let's not start using hypothetical scenarios to beat a good Sanchez performance with.

There were a few times that he was way to tenative to the play the ball early and allowed it to bounce to much, the one time Lloris had to come in and clear it out of bounds, the next time he ended up clearing it when Lloris could have ended up getting it. Plus the silly play that should have resulted in their goal.

Good to see a clean sheet but a much more shaky performance than the last time out.

It's not hypothetical. He made a terrible clearance, no need to delude yourself otherwise. We are very lucky it didn't cost us the three points.

As I said above, he was probably our best player but that doesn't exempt him for being criticised for what was, quite obviously, a terrible piece of play.

the worrying thing is how hes actually attempted to clear the ball! its underneath him hes going backwards while bending over the ball..never going to generate any power at all like that. just another example of how thick he is..and thick footballers cost you points
