So what's the solution then?

It's either back Mourinho and let him oversee a rebuild or get him out in the summer and let a new manager do that. Personally dont think Mourinho is that type of manager.

Either way it's clear a lot of players need to be binned and the right type of players/characters identified and brought in. For the most part I dont agree with you that the players get defended - most on this forum constantly dig out the likes of Dier, Winks, Sissoko, Aurier etc.

Most would acknowledge there is a player issue and a manager issue at this point.
This is the thing.

If it's the manager, fire Mourinho.

If it's the players, then also fire Mourinho because he's not a project manager and never has been.

Either way Mourinho has to go before the summer.

The manager needs to go, but so does the majority of the squad.
People defending the players and thinking this is all on Jose and a new manager will wave a magic wand and turn these gutless turds into winners are in lala land.

They downed tools on Poch, They downed tools on Jose.

They will down tools on the next poor bastard who gets the job.

And STILL they will get defended - at some point you have to acknowledge that their lack of winning mentality, application and professionalism is a large part of this, not to mention balls.
Who said they downed tools on Poch? I thought this forum had this opinion that Poch was a loser manager, he mismanaged the team, was spent at the club etc.

As for the players downing tools on Mourinho, it really wouldn’t surprise me. How many times has Mourinho come out and blamed the team or some individuals? What do you really expect them to do? Kiss his arse and say thank you boss?

Yes but we don’t know who should stay or go. Jose has form with fucking off good players from De Bruyne to Luke Shaw.

We have been through this before with Poch and Rekdnapp, dramatic improvement of the team based on changing tactics, coaching and mentality.

Some players will need to go, but the manager needs to fuck off first so we can work out what need to be fixed.

Do their fucking jobs and act like professionals, that's what they get ridiculous money for. Or is that too much to ask?

I'm not asking for much, just don't lose to a bunch of farmers and get embarrassed by the worst Woolwich side in the past 40 years. It's not a big ask.

Defense looked pretty average under Lampard. They must have bought a whole bunch of new players for Tuchel, surely.

:avbhumph:
That's what's the most remarkable thing, their weakness nuder fat Frank was their defence, now look!! I think they have a very strong squad, thought the same under fat Frank, especially their midfield but just goes to show the difference in quality of managers.

I'm not even saying Lampard was totally shit. When I hear him speak he was highly articulate and had a solid idea how he wanted Chelsea to play. I suspect that he just wasn't experienced enough to communicate well enough to the players through his drills and training. His obvious downside was that he chucked his players under the bus and ostracised players, who on earth could he have been influenced by!??

West Ham are getting those kind of breaks that a team on a roll get though aren’t they. Lingard is suddenly belting everything he touches into the net, and surely Woolwich were expecting to have time to form a wall for a direct free kick on the edge of their box, the ref just lets them take it?

If your boss at work singles you out in a meeting saying how shit is your output and embarrasses you, how would you react? Just do yer fucken job son, innit? You would talk to your work mates and say look I’m not happy with how he treated me, right? They will probably start thinking that they can be in line for criticism the next time they might output less than usual.

So the toxic atmosphere starts to spread to other people too. In my opinion, a proper leader should never blame others for failures. Mourinho is not a leader and this toxic atmosphere he created at the club is his own fault, no one else’s.

If you are going to use that analogy let me counter with a plausible analogy of my own.

If I make braindead mistakes that cost the company money, turn up hungover or turn up to work and my productivity is shit then I think the manager is fully justified to chew me out.

But then I'm not a snowflake and I have broad enough shoulders to recognise when I'm at fault and need to pull my socks up, unlike the sensitive souls at the club.

Can you imagine this lot with the Alex Ferguson hair dryer? they would probably need a lie down and a valium.

Who will come in?
We've had the hottest managerial prospect operating in English football, followed by the seasoned veteran serial winner. Where do we go now?
The players have to take their share of the blame at some point. Even Harry. He doesn't seem keen on talking to the media post match, like he use to. Not sure what to read into that.

No fucking clue. Sadly I don't think anyone can put enough lipstick on this particular pig.
Might get a bit of new manager bounce but that's only ever temporary, ask Watford.

Yeah but people do mistakes, it’s normal. The way you describe it is as if the players are doing mistakes after mistakes. Like last year, Mourinho singled out Ndombele after a half where he wasn’t even the worst player on the pitch. Other players like Dier have done more frequent mistakes and Mourinho kept selecting him. How does that sound to you?
