Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What I’m saying is that is there any need for him to bring up this shit? What his trying to say is basically he won two trophes with manure in his first season and ole has won nowt. His putting him down. No need before a big game. When mourinho can’t back it up with how he has done with us so far.
Again, not his biggest fan at the moment, but not sure where he’s said or implied that from the quote.

Psychologist would have a field day with this burk - so many odd, narcissistic traits

Reguilón on for Bergwijn: how José Mourinho blew Spurs’ title charge | Jonathan Wilson

Interesting article, argues that we can almost pin point where it all went wrong for us this year.

Not sure I totally agree With the entire piece but there's definitely some things written in the article that are main points in this thread.
Good article in general; but wrong on the main point. Reguilon probably has much end product as Bergwijn lol.

The overall tone and intent of the article is bang on but the example used is odd as Bergwijn for Reguilon isn't much of a defensive sub as Reguilon is as effective in attack as any of our wingers outside of Son.

I think one of the main reasons he is still here is because stadiums are empty.

Twitter polls and forum trolls don’t necessarily translate to tarnishing the global image ( cough monetary value) of the club but a stadium full of booing fans being broadcasted across the world certainly would.

As a disclaimer I don’t think Spurs fans who are against Jose are trolls, I just enjoyed the rhyme.

When playing at LB, yes. But he came on at LM and did nothing.... So it was a defensive sub, and it didn’t work. If he brought Reg on for Davies then yeah

If we're talking sliding doors moments this season, I've thought a few times that the first key one was Bale missing the chance to make it 4-2 vs West Ham at home. His debut, coming on the back of big scores vs Utd and Maccabi, having done all the hard work to get the chance it would have been a flying start. Our confidence was sky-high then and would have prevented what we know happened next...

It sums up how big a coward he his.
He is not just a coward , I am sure there are many cowards who have valid reasons, war etc , amongst others. Equally I am sure there are many cowards who then hold their hands up to that moment and don’t blame their subordinates. Finally I am sure there are many cowards who do not compound their actions with being , a deeply unpleasant individual with what appears to be no redeeming features, at least not as a manager.. We have had some shockingly bad managers in my time supporting Spurs, some who I genuinely did not like, however in my opinion Jose is the most odious

To be fair to Bale he was knocked off balance by a defender as he was about to shoot which was just enough of a contact to result in him putting it wide. Had he scored and won us the game I think it would have just delayed Mourinho’s negativity from setting in until slightly later because leopards don’t change their spots.

Do you think he'd be pulling the same tactics if there were fans in the stadium?

Now its all starting to feel like without the fans he's just been tinkering with the formation and players for the last year.

I don't think Jose gives a shit what anyone in football thinks besides Jose, but he knows that he has to answer to the fans of the club. No manager doesn't have to do that.

No Added Value.

I see nothing that Mourinho has brought in terms of improvement.

I think he knows what to do but is simply no longer able to do it.

And that means he has to go because I think giving him money to spend would be a mistake.

Still amazes me how much credence some Spurs fans give this Amazon Mourinho TV PR heavily edited puff piece as a tool to lay into certain players. How's that turning out BTW?

The article is spot on. The Anfield game is where the team lost belief in itself after throwing away multiple golden chances to beat them and go top. The loss of confidence combined with Mourinho's principles of football (that focus on punishing/avoiding mistakes) made the team very nervous and we never really recovered.

It's very difficult to believe that the team that played with such guts against City back in November is the same team we have now. That Anfield game was definitely the defining moment in the season for us. A game we should have won, a game we lost, a game that showed we are still bottlers. I think Mourinho and the players genuinely thought we could win the league in December and they never really got over that defeat. That's not to excuse Mourinho's mistakes but disappointment on that scale is very difficult to handle. The next game against Leicester (after Liverpool beat Palace 7-0) we had already given up and transformed into the pathetic team we see now.
