Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm as fond of Pochettino as anyone else but I think some people go a bit OTT with him. Yes, he got us to a Champions League final and at times we played some super football under him, but ultimately he was a nearly man. Lovely bloke and I wish him good health, as should everyone, but what he does for PSG I couldn't care less about. Unless we were playing them. A few people here act like they still want to give him a reach around.

People are fond of Poch because he put us in the limelight whilst playing some amazing football. The bitterness towards him by some on this forum is odd.

Anyway, here we are. And that’s just great.

. :harryhmm:

Not many (if any) going over the top today.

But like Kane if PSG fail to win the CL tough sh!t.

The only difference although it is a strange and peculiar piece is that players invariably choose to leave or are bought whereas managers get relieved of their duties so can rarely claim disloyalty.

H.mmmm....

I swear some of our fans would rather Pochettino won the CL with PSG than would want us to win it with Mourinho or any other manager.

Lord knows where their loyalties would be if we ever met in competition, not that it is likely for a while.

If he’s a nearly man, then every manager we’ve ever had in my lifetime is a nothing man.

Some complain about manager cult whilst indulging in manager cult. It’s daft, and weird, and is a modern football phenomenon.
I was gonna say. At times it is a bit like the Mourinhoistas that we are complaining about on here.

I liked Poch when he was here but felt that it was right to sack him. But I'm not going to invest time in following his PSG side religiously. And as much as I like Poch I still don't want PSG to win the tournament.

It's a bit like fawning over an ex at times in here. I am happy for the time we had but we need to look forwards instead of backwards.

And if Poch wants to come back in 5 years or so then he is more than welcome. But there shouldn't be a rush from either party.

Who do you want to win it the? Liverpool, Chelsea, City? Madrid? No thanks.

I actually enjoyed their game last night.

Paredes, Verratti i Gueye with Mbappe, Neymar and Di Maria are fucking phenomenal.

I think they are favourites.

Poch was a good guy who sadly, reached a point where he couldn't go on as our manager and simply had to be removed. That's totally unlike the Jose fanboys. Poch earned our respect for what he did for us, Mourinho has gained his kudos at Porto, Chelsea and Inter.

He's done absolutely fuck all for Spurs.

I wasn't a member here back then, but I'd love to see some posts from those who are beating their meat over Mauricio now how they were just before he was sacked. I bet many were seething and agreeing that it was time for him to go.

You're more than welcome to remember the good times and be fond of a previous manager. But my original opinion was that some people's circle jerk here over him while he's manager of another club is a bit weird and OTT.
