Personally I still don't think it will happen, but it would actually be quite anti-Spursy if for the first season in many years we didn't make CL or EL, we get given a free pass to an even bigger competition.

We were heading for the europa conference league with Thursday nights against the 3rd team in Albania. What a turnaround to now be heading for the best teams in Europe.
Partizani under Ilir Daja would wipe the floor with us. Scum, but a good side :mourcry:

Leeds could be back in the Champions League next season.
Don't tell me football fairy tales will be dead.

We’re in a cup final this week and I genuinely no longer give a toss. Throwing away more than a century of history for oligarch’s wet dreams.

Genuinely feel physically ill about this. What a disgusting sham.

Let's say that the clubs are kicked out of the PL. and let's further assume that no players from those clubs will be able to play for their national sides.

Of course every fan of every team would like to think that their players are "honourable" and would pick country over club.
But, at the end of the day how many would walk away from the money ?
None would be my guess.
No player will walk away from their club if they are prevented from playing for their country. They don't get paid by their country.

Anyway i don't see how legally you can prevent a player representing his country because of a decision made by his employer. It's not as though the players started the ESL.

Think it's still massively up in the open until a firm decision from FIFA, UEFA and the EPL.

But I can't see any way these teams can play these fixtures plus domestic league, cups etc, so basically, they are gone. Interesting now to see if any player puts ambition over money

It's not only the future of football that will undergo massive change, things like the World cup now get devalued if the best players aren't available.

Still smiling.

How on earth has Levy got us into Europe's premier competition.

We can poach Villa, Leicester and Everton's best players.

I wouldn’t expect them to resign from their clubs openly, but they would try to leverage some sort of ceasefire and agreement.

Players do want to play at world cups there is no doubt.

I agree.

The statement I am looking forward to seeing is from the PFA.

There really is a case that if the players are banned from playing for their countries for a decision the club has unilaterally made, they could claim frustration of contract, and walk

You telling me players like Pogba, Bale, Neymar, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic etc wouldn't prioritise winning what would become the most prestigious club competition in the world, whilst also earning obscene salaries from clubs that will be given 3.5 billion to spend? The top player agents will be stiff as boards right now.

Money talks in football, always has. Some players are prepared to go for China for it, others will leave clubs they support etc. but the wages will be significantly higher in this Super League. Lets not kid ourselves listening to morons like Danny Murphy who thinks he would turn his nose up at the idea.

The World Cup is a handful of games every 4 years.. Top players are likely to play what... 20 world cup games over their career if they're fortunate enough to play for a nation that consistently qualifies.
