I'm surprised he didn't say it was a betrayal of Brexshit

It's not even about the teams that you are facing. Its about earning the right to face them.
This is a none contest, yeah you play Madrid, but come Jan when we can't win it every game is pointless as there is nothing to play for, the same for the Prem if we stay in it, there is no fighting for Europe, it is win it or be a filler team.
We have sold our soul to be a filler team for the financial elite. Lets not pretend we are one and lets not pretend this will elevate us. The teams in it are the teams we cannot compete against currently and it will continue to be that way.
7 disagrees but I'm sure they'll all watch it.Everyone can say what they want about this, but we will all watch it. I'd definitely rather watch Spurs play Real Madrid every season more than I'd like to watch us play Burnley.
I can honestly say i won't watch it. Yes i'd rather play Real Madrid in a competitive competition, not endlessly playing them when the result doesn't matter. Its special playing them when it doesn't happen very often. I'd rather watch us against Burnley than this closed shop abortion.Everyone can say what they want about this, but we will all watch it. I'd definitely rather watch Spurs play Real Madrid every season more than I'd like to watch us play Burnley.
These are smart business people, they have all of this figured out. The players aren't going to go anywhere.
The money will be too big and too tempting, and none of the top talent is going say "You know I'm really upset by the lack of meritocracy in this system, I'm going to go play for Southampton because I'm such a big believer in the pureness of football."
This decision wasn't taken lightly and they weren't uninformed. They planned for all the negative consequences and fall-out and still made the same decisions. I believe that they probably spoke to a number of players about this to get their thoughts and prepare them for potential consequences. I'm sure that they spoke to agents as well.
Exactly. The fun of watching these big games is that it's a rarity.I can honestly say i won't watch it. Fully agree with that. My point was going against the idea that it would get boring playing these same teams even season. Obviously I didn't make it well.I think most could get on board the SL as a replacement for the CL but it can't be at the expense of the PL. That should come first
No, I don't like SL as a replacement for CL.I think most could get on board the SL as a replacement for the CL but it can't be at the expense of the PL. That should come first

Looks like the Bundesliga clubs are flat out rejecting the Super League. Im interested to see who the next 3 of the founders will be.
No it's not guaranteed at all. If league performance is same next year, it would mean spurs and Woolwich wouldn't qualify, but West Ham would etc.UEFA has announced changes to the Champions League which would start in 2024/25...

UEFA announces new format for club competitions to be introduced as of 2024/25 season
UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League reforms conclude two years of widespread consultations.www.uefa.com
It's basically a watered down version of the Super League in effect. It's not 100% the same since participation is not GUARANTEED, but with all the qualifiers they have in there it basically is.
The top 4 aspect is the same but there are these additional qualifiers which are surely meant to include clubs like us and the scum...No it's not guaranteed at all. If league performance is same next year, it would mean spurs and Woolwich wouldn't qualify, but West Ham would etc.
100%TBH I’d like to see the FAs break away from FIFA and do a new World Cup style competition. After the Qatar debacle FIFA isn’t too high on my list.
Yeah I'm against the coefficient idea. However our coefficient won't be great if we keep flopping at European competitions, so there is an element of merit to it.The top 4 aspect is the same but there are these additional qualifiers which are surely meant to include clubs like us and the scum...
One of the additional places will go to the club ranked third in the championship of the association in fifth position in the UEFA national association ranking. Another will be awarded to a domestic champion by extending from four to five the number of clubs qualifying via the so-called “Champions Path”.
The final two places will go to the clubs with the highest club coefficient over the last five years that have not qualified for the Champions League group stage but have qualified either for the Champions League qualification phase, the Europa League or the Europa Conference League.
That'll be solved by some donations to tory coffersLove the idealogical dissonance of a govt that would happily privatise the NHS tomorrow, but wants to nationalise football.
They have just joined a new league.
The thing the coefficients do is buoy the teams that already have a good one. I believe using the coefficients both us and the scum would qualify under the new rules.Yeah I'm against the coefficient idea. It's not like the ESL which is permanent and not based on merit.
