The thing the coefficients do is buoy the teams that already have a good one. I believe using the coefficients both us and the scum would qualify under the new rules.

Since we qualify, it also boosts our coefficient going forward which gives us more money than other domestic competitors which makes us more successful.

I agree it is not permanent but with a system like that it is basically creating de-facto permanent status without calling them permanent.
We'll see, but given only 2 clubs get in from coefficient system, there's no guarantee it will be Spurs or Woolwich.

If you look at the coefficients as they stand today and factor in the nature of other leagues, it's virtually assured for the foreseeable future.

Like I said, it's not the same thing as guaranteeing them a spot, but in effect it basically does the same thing.

I agree the ESL is worse, the reality though is that there will be some mechanism in place to virtually assure the spots of all of these clubs.

UEFA has announced changes to the Champions League which would start in 2024/25...

It's basically a watered down version of the Super League in effect. It's not 100% the same since participation is not GUARANTEED, but with all the qualifiers they have in there it basically is.
just more bollocks to make a fuck ton of money and kill the competition. UEFA are just the ESL without the balls to tear the mask off and show us the end game.

Far from it IMO still goes on performance in the league in general so teams can earn a way into it just added checks for the big boys to fall out of it.

The issue the cunts wanting the ESL will be the increased games and the increased number of clubs and ways in

They don't want more games playing minnows to get to the juicy fixtures they just want to be playing each other all the time. And they still have the risk of falling out like United for example and Liverpool would have done when they finishes 8th and there abouts 3 seasons on the bounce

It's basically just Americans wanting to remove any danger from their cash cows it seems

Is there any evidence of this? Surely some Spanish clubs who aren't in top 4 have got a better coefficient than Spurs and Woolwich?
These are the current rankings...

4 Spanish teams have a higher coefficient currently but they are all in the top 4.

The scum are 11th and we are 14th. The closest threat is probably Roma who are 16th. Villareal are all the way down in 25th.

It's also unclear

Like I have pointed out in other posts, with the additional spots awarded based upon coefficients, it saves teams like United and Liverpool from falling out.

Edit: To be clear, if the rules were in place this season and it ended today, Woolwich would qualify ahead of us (we would also get a spot I believe).

Fair but I think it’s because we reached CL final in 2019 and Woolwich reached EL final in 2019 too.
If our European performances dip,and others do well in Europa, our coefficients will drop below those other teams, as will Woolwich.
So it’s not a perfect system, but much better than fixed ESL approach.

I dunno, you have to give the honesty of the ESL some credit. UEFA have been enabling these shit clubs for years as they closed ranks on strangling the sport, then cry foul when it comes time to retire the facade and cut them out.

At least with the ESL its blatantly in the open. The UEFA CL/PL/FFP bullshit the past decade has just been a case study in hypocrisy and deceit. FIFA and UEFA made their corrupt bed, I don't feel sorry for them in the least.

Its the fans I feel bad for. But we probably should've turned our back on the whole thing 10-20 years ago as well.

Looks like the Bundesliga clubs are flat out rejecting the Super League. Im interested to see who the next 3 of the founders will be.

I can't seem them holding out forever, same with PSG. Maybe waiting to see if they can get more favorable terms or wanting to see the potential fall-out from it. If this does keep progressing and the league looks like to really take off, they'll ultimately want in.

Tbh I'm quite enjoying it all now, the hypocrisy from FIFA, UEFA Sky, Bt , FA,premier League , like any of those cunts ever gave a shit about the fans.

This is why I’m starting to feel a bit apathetic about it. I suspect it will all play out alright in the end anyway. I’m more concerned who our new manager will be and winning on Wednesday and definitely Sunday. Once what is going to happen is more certain I’ll get a bit more animated about it but until then it’s just a lot of dick swinging and posturing in the media.

by far their biggest cash cow. Always has been a conflict between clubs, continental and international federations. Happens is almost every sport. No respect for either side, always wanting to by-pass each other. I've sat in meetings with all parties and it's clear to see
