What I'm also starting to get curious about is how much ENIC have calculated in terms of revenue streams from use of the stadium beside for the football club.

I imagine the NFL is going to bring in some big money if it sticks, and I imagine we could fit In a fair few more as well if we held boxing

The stadium is a vehicle for Enic to grow their investment beyond football not necessary any benefit to THFC.
The stadium while being payed for by THFC was a financial disaster , way over budget and maybe £200/300 spent on facilities for NFL , pop concerts etc.. All financed by the football side .
The reality is Enic have no interest in a world beating football team . Just enough to grab what cash they can at minimal expenditure .
The club can finance other adventures such as buying property , golf courses .
In 5 years the NFL will have a permanent franchise , with its safety net for high profit without monetary risk as football. That is their long term strategy.
The reality is we are fucked.

Holy shit.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club

Just took on a whole new meaning.

I know this might sound ridiculous, but if they're looking to bring in a NFL franchise what's the chance they'll try and turn us more in to a Spanish Style Athletic club.

How much money have we lost due to Stadium Closure, lack of Champs League, refund of TV revenue (COVID), Mourinho
  • 134m fy2020 (difference between 2019 profit). Given improvements in other areas (sponsorship & NFL), the GAP is likely as high as 180m for expected vs reality.
  • 150m fy2021 (estimated by Levy in Nov20 ). This is likely to be higher with the 2nd Covid lockdown, Mourinho failure and prolonged closure of the stadium.
In summary, we are probably close to 400m behind where we would have forecast in 2019.

Why is the club obsessed with Top 4
Unfortunately, under the current FIFA/UEFA setup (which everyone so desperately didn't want to change) Champions league is a clubs 2nd main source of revenue (behind EPL tv income). There is no (financial) incentive to win domestic cup and domestic league.
  • 2019 for example
  • Champions league final - 108m
  • Champions league last 16 = 63m
  • Domestic competitions (inc a semi final) = 3.1m
Why can't Levy or Joe gift the club $$$
Financial fair play rules do not allow this. Squad improvements can be made only with club revenue. Yes, City did bend the rules - but that's an entirely different argument.

We could issue more share capital too them. Or they could make a loan - but that would have to be paid back.

Sell all this crap lazy players - get new ones!
Every club is in the same boat. There is very little money to be spent. We have to sell players before we can buy them. How much do you expect WInks, Sissoko, Lamela, Aurier to fetch in the current market? 50m tops I would expect....Now you have to find 4 improvements with a 50m budget.

Why didn't we get CONTE - He's a winner
Unless he is happy with a good portion of the existing squad, it ain't going to happen.

Is there any hope?????
  • Stadium reopening
  • Stadium naming rights
  • NFL revenues
  • Sessegnon, Skipp, Scarlett, Devine, Parrott growing into good players for the future
  • With low expectations, the race for top 4 in 2022 should be quite exciting to watch
You're making excuses, ENIC have been winging it for years. They were told by Poch to rebuild they ignored him. If they knew they didn't have the money to run the club they should have sold up a long time ago. But truth is they didn't want to do that because this was a nice little business for them. Now they are in way over their head, they don't know whether to shit or wind their watch.

First of all the club & ENIC have identity crisis and due to it we have been making lot of bad decisions. Every bad decisions just multiplied and we are now in such precarious position.

Not spending any money in 500 days is costing us more & more.

We consider us to be top club but don’t behave as a top club starting from Levy

We say we wanted to develop young players , but in last 5 years so we halted youth progression by keeping some idle

What do other big/rich clubs do ? Take Chelsea or RM or City - they buy cream of the talents for 5m to 10m an send them on loan to correct clubs. And when that player have 1 good season, value at his peak they sell him. Take Foyth. We got him when he played just 8 pro games. Strategy should be send him to SerieA or LaLiga loans straightaway. Instead we kept him for 3 yrs nearly doing nothing. Now he is ARG RB, Europa league winner yet we are parting him with 12m. Had we sent him on loan for 2 seasons prior , his value now could have been 20-30m . This extra money gives us another 3 young players...

If we had a culture of developing players & selling them & dead woods at right time, that in itself would have taken care of most of the needs of squad.
Hope the new DoF changes this situation

So, apart from,

Bergjwin, Sessegnon, Reguillon, Rodon, Holjberg, Lo Celso, Ndombele all under 25

Alli, Winks, Skipp, Sanchez all under 25 from existing squad. Add to that Vinicius, Bale, Doherty in as a temporary cover until permanent players can be found.

Your saying ENIC haven't done a rebuild???

Now the quality of those players is a different discussion - and one that should result in Hitchen being fired.

agree with what you say but it was Poch who wouldn't loan out our young players

What a load of apologetic bullshit.

You're as guilty and as culpable as ENIC themselves you fucking clone. With so called fans like you we deserve just 1 league cup in twenty one years.
With so called fans like you things will never fucking change.

Didn’t even read it , as don’t need too. My only contribution is

Dance Flowers GIF by A24

Absolute bullshit - stop repeating these shameless ENIC lies

Villa just signed a 30m player - LMFAO

And the reason we don’t have naming rights yet is due to one man’s cunting greed and inability to deliver

ENIC OUT

LEVY OUT
The thread should be re-titled A DOSE OF SELF PITY.

Tottenham Hotspur. Uniquely affected by covid.

The fanatic who started it claimed we was the BEST run club in world football yesterday. But failed to explain why the the best run club in world football was at the front of the queue with a begging bowl when Covid came along..

The shameless, profiteering property developers scamming our own fans for 20 years are still being propped up by supporters like this

A good post and summarises nicely.
Have no idea what people disagree with...

If you want the best train set down your street you have to go out and buy it, no one is going to give it to you.
Abramovich has a great train set because he puts his hand in his pocket.. Levy wont.
Football is now a multi billion commodity which is solely for multi billionaires to play with, Levy wont play.
Tottenham Hotspur is fast becoming a property portfolio and not a Football club.
We need an owner that loves football not collecting and counting money.

FFP is less real than Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy. Where has FFP been for the last decade whilst Man City and the Chavs signed half of Europe for inflated fees.

No.
Sessegonon is on loan somewhere, Rodon might turn out to be good but he was the much cheaper option to what Mourinho wanted. You've named three players that are temporary cover, how is that a rebuild? We need to get rid of Winks and Sissoko, Alli is past his peak, Sanchez needs to go, Regullion will go to Madrid if he turns out to be top class, Moura needs to go. Joe Hart again is just temporary cover. Lloris has rejected a new contract and of course there is Kane who is irreplaceable.

So we're in big trouble, lots of debt and no money for players or a quality manager despite decades of being top of the net spend league. You talk about Hitchen being sacked, I agree but what about the man who hired him???
