Says it’s a done deal

So we sold a Coco and are getting a Cutey. Is that good?

(gotta love the South American nicknames)

How has nobody bigger than us come in for Romero? Looks like we will get him for cheaper than Ben White and I assume he’s a better player, having won Serie A defender of the year. He’s not proven in our league but I’d still say it’s a pretty safe bet.

United went with the bigger name in Varane.
Chelsea want Kounde who is apparently slightly better than Romero.
City dont need a CB
Liverpool got Konate but arguably they could have gone in for him given their CB problems.
Woolwich have even less pull than us.
Leicester are shite.

I guess it's a matter of priority. Our biggest issue is at CB so we are willing to spend the bulk of our transfer kitty to get in a top player. I guess our rivals have prioritised other areas.

All European teams except PSG are broke and they went for Ramos so I think it's just good timing for us.

Spot on.

It’s important to remember that in normal economic climate, we’d have no chance to sign Romero.
He’d have been tapped up by Messi and signed for Barcelona. We have one window where we have huge leverage over European clubs. We have to use it.

I do worry about his ability on the ball.

By all accounts he's super aggressive and should add some bollocks and organisation to our defence but what can he do in possession? Apparently quite a good passer but he's not a Vertonghen-esque dribbler so hopefully we can give him a good partner to work with.
