Transfer Adama Traore

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Might as well rename us Loan with obligation to buy FC. How in the hell do we think we can go through a whole transfer window loaning players too buy? If you really like him and the manager wants him, then put an appropriate proper bid in ffs. We have money in the bank as we have barely spent anything

I think the loan with the option to buy can make sense for teams in Serie A or Ligue 1 that are desperate to move some guys off their books and have a guarantee of money coming in for next season but for a team like Wolves and a player like Traore I don't see it making much sense at all.

I am taking this from the transfer thread, sorry if it was discussed here and I missed it. But there is talk that with Traore we would go to a 4-4-2.

A Traore-PEH-Skipp-Lucas/Dele MF is very poor. So weak in passing, zero creativity at all. We once again become so reliant on Kane and Son to create offense, and this year instead of having relying on Toby to ping long balls to them we rely on Traore to move the ball up to them.

Still no ability to play the ball through the MF, still no ability to control the game with ball possession. Nobody able to slow the game down and allow us time to regroup when under attack. We are going to have to play at one speed, super fast, all the time with Traore bombing up the field because we have no flexibility to change it up.

If the Traore or striker rumours are true we also have zero goal scoring threat off the bench, zero players who can unlock a defense on the bench or in the starting 11. Maybe I am missing something but that team seems like such a limited team that can only play one way and nothing else.
I agree

The Skipp Hojbjerg Dele midfield has serious limitations as shown yesterday.

Athleticism yes that's fine but the technical ability and ball progression lacks.
Its essential you have a player like Ndombele/Lo Celso who can dribble , progress the ball and be creative.

If Ndombele/Lo Celso aren't in Nuno's plans or not good enough in his eyes etc etc.

Then we MUST target a player for that position.

Moving the ball is literally the main thing Traore does. He can dribble through midfield to draw defenders and open lanes for others.

Skipp, Dele and PEH can all pass the ball. The problem is we have no outlet to take the congestion away from midfield.

He moves it by dribbling with it, not passing, he is completely unable to pass the ball effectively. Which means, as I said earlier, we need to play at full speed all the time and have no ability to change the style which we play.

PEH and Skipp are competent passers for their roles, but not close to good enough with the ball to control the game or help us retain possession in the MF. Dele is not a good option with the ball in MF at all. He takes far too long to make decisions and gives the ball away far too easily with poor passes and trying to beat players with nutmegs and other silly options.

I know!!! They as if they barely played with each other...

Again I’ve said this before, I personally think we should be signing a midfielder and a striker instead and am not necessarily a big fan of Traore

However everyone saying ‘look at his assists and goals’ there are plenty of effective wide players without huge numbers in those areas that were part of a functional team and played their part in different areas, Albrighton for Leicester when they won the title, think he got 5 assists and 2 goals, but was one of their most effective players that season in general, because he worked perfectly in the strategy they employed

If Traore plays up front with Son and Kane and is constantly being marked by 2 players, his crossing doesn’t have to be Beckham level, it just needs to be good enough to find one of those two in a dangerous position

He could be very valuable in simply being a transitional mule, and a functional cog in a team strategy

You have to seriously question who made this bid.

Do we as a club honestly think Wolves would just allow their most dangerous player to go out on loan to another Premier league team with an option to buy?

........Or perhaps you should park the tendency to melt and ask yourself who wrote the article?

Answer: The gut that said weeks ago that Martinez was a done deal. 🤡

Who gives a shit as long as we sign the right player?

..........You're just looking for stuff to whinge about.

The journalist is the one who first broke the Martinez deal
So tier 1/2 or whatever.

WHo on earth at SPurs thought that bid would ever get accepted?

So you know that it comes from a guy that's already proven to talk shit; you you're happy to ignore this in order to shoehorn another little melt in?

Jeezus, man..... Pull yourself together. Don't be such a drama queen.
