Ex-Spurs Player Tanguy Ndombele

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think the problem here is, I genuinely blame Ndombele for the first goal, but what was Skipp really doing?
Are we eating skipp so highly because he is also “one of our own?”

We need to actually get in better players and ship the dross we are overloaded with.
I think Ndombele will thrive in a 433 with less defensive responsibilities.
Seemed the entire squad elevated their game against city as it was the plan not to conceded and hope for luck and immediately that was achieved we restored factory settings.
The new guy at wolves in similar duration has his team playing with an identity.
What exactly is Nuno about?
Big teams have more than one creative outlets.
We have had none for 4 games and this is the first time we got near to more than 1 goal.
The other guys should at least be able to make something, it makes Tanguys job easier knowing those around him have a semblance of a footballing brain and not just a defensive one.

Didn't watch the game, don't know what happened, but this is something that worries me.
Is it Winks all over again? A barely average player being made into the messiah because he's a "yoof player"

I literally want the cunt ended
It’s still early but he lost a lot of respect from me last Saturday against Palace. To leave Gil and Ndombele unused when we created absolutely nothing was one of the strangest managerial decisions I’ve witnessed for a very long time. Certainly things don’t look promising based on that and the evidence from the previous 1-0 matches. Sunday’s selection will tell us a lot about Nuno now that Gil and Ndombele have some minutes under their belt.

Agreed - he’s quickly running out of grace

VDV played with more effort than I've ever seen from Tanguy, was signed with a history of calf and ankle issues and used his talent far better at Tottenham.
I don’t disagree with that. The point I was making was you don’t have to play 90 mins to be effective. Also you seem to keep mentioning his price as though it’s coming out of your pocket. Ndombele didn’t pick his value yet you hold it against him. You are just not objective to the point of stupidity where he is concerned. You have a personal dislike for him which clouds your judgement.

Of course there is a chance he willl be another Winks, Carroll, Mason. So far Skipp is Winks with more of a fight. But he is also younger, so has time to develop his game more. Why waste time on Winks when we can have a slightly better version with time on his side.

It came out of all our pockets you plank and was clearly better spent elsewhere.

Being objective? Look at all the excuses you lot are wheeling out for a man who has barely finished 90 minutes in about a 6th of his games here over 2 years.

Play him here so he doesn't have to defend, play him for only an hour because he can't be arsed getting fit, we need other players to do x, y or z for him.

He's never the problem for some of you just because he has talent, it's absurd.

Lol the last few pages have literally been filled with posts from people who say he’s got the ability but are concerned about other things like his attitude and off the ball work. He’s flawed but he’s probably our best midfielder and we are all hopeful we can work out his flaws and improve him as a player.

Let me ask you this, who would you take atm, a 90 mins Winks or a 60 mins Ndombele?

Tanguy didn't ask for the transfer fee, but he does take the £200K wages pw, so Tanguy's cost is relevant,
as much as i love this guy with the ball at his feet his defending is poor (everyone needs to defend)

he is one of only 2 players we have who can see passes (Kane & Him) the others take ages to see what is on
Tanguy is not Eriksen but he is the second best we have at the moment

Once Tanguy didn't get close to his man Skipp was basically the "cone" in a pretty simple one-two for the Rennes players.
It still needed a good finish though, a curler from outside the box so fair play to the goalscorer.

His value reflects the level of expectation the club had for him. We didn't spend £60m on him thinking he would do a few dribbles on Thursday nights, we spent it thinking he would be good enough to succeed Dembele as our main midfielder in the PL. If he cost £10m nobody would care, he'd just be another N'Jie that we could easily bin and forget about.

The situation we are in is that we bet the future of the team on our £100m investment in Ndombele and Lo Celso as the replacements of Dembele and Eriksen and neither of them has even come close to being mentioned in the same breath. We are not Chelsea or the Manchester clubs, when they buy a Van De Beek or a Bakayoko for £50m and they flop, it's nothing, they just buy somebody else for a similar fee and move on. We don't have unlimited money to play with which is why the failure of Ndombele and Lo Celso is hurting us so badly.

Don’t disagree with much of that. He is probably the most talented player on the pitch and it is up to Nuno to bring the best out of him. Leaving him as an unused sub against the mighty Eagles when we created absolutely nothing will certainly not do that

None of us have any idea what goes on behind the scenes and what leads to players being frozen out.

We all seem to think we know, but we don't.

He's considerably more talented than most of our midfielders, but he's also far and away the most unreliable. As good as he is when he plays, we can't build a team around him because he's hardly there.
It may be best for us to try and recover some of the fee and buy someone more consistent if not as good.
