After this no more fucking defensive managers ever again please. Just no, AVB, Graham, Jose, Nuno, it’s not Spurs and it will never be Spurs. How long does it take to get through into the clubs head this message, are they thick or something.

If you've shipped 9 goals in 3 games it makes sense to "shore up the defence".

Hugo
Romero, Sanchez, Dier
Emerson,Pierre, Skipp, Reguilon
Tanguy
Kane, Son
Emerson can be switched out for Tanganga. And Tanguy or Son can be switched out for Gil. But some form of variation of that is probably our strongest 11 right now.
Gil for Tanguy, Rodon for Sanchez and thats roughly what i'd go for in league games for the time being.

Tactics aside, I get the sense he’s lost the players (or perhaps never really gotten them on board in the first place). I was hoping Nuno might turn out to be a surprise but he looks way in over his head.

So many things are in a bad place with this club right now. What a complete fucking mess we’re in.

For the sake of the argument and the debate, where do we draw the line on what is and is not a defensive manager?

Like, are Conte and Tuchel, who's styles are built on a mid block and aggressive counters defensive managers? Would Valverde, who has a strong defensive but a methodic and well thought out attacking system by classed as defensive? Where is the line drawn?

Because if it is drawn behind Pochettino then I think that we are writing off most managers on the planet.

I guess it depends on the opponent. Against some opponents Tanguy's dribbling would be of use.

Hell. Against some you drop Kane in as the 10 and have Gil and Son in front of him.
Just think too many players have failed too often under 3 different managers and we need to make them understand they're done here. Tanguy is one of those. I concider it a bit like Poch after we lost at home to Stoke in his first season and the penny dropped on Kaboul, Capoue and Adebayor. Lets get some fresh blood in the team and see what they can do.

And what does that have to do with Valverde? Valverde is not Nuno. Their track records are not similar at all.
Apart from at Barcelona and Olympiakos his teams don't score enough goals. Nuno has had similar issues with goals scored. It's because their philosophies are similar in that they place a great emphasis on defending, being solid, and not on creative attacking play that leads to chances and goals. The majority of fans have had enough of this.

Valverdes second spell at Bilbao. 213 games played and 318 goals scored. That is abysmal.

We could have gone for Potter or Ten Hag in the summer, we didn’t. That is our history, to dare is to do is supposed to be our motto, our fans (match day going ones at least) love attacking football, if we ain’t winning shit then at least entertain.

As for Conte I would not have gone for him as without £300m net spend it would all just go up in flames. If you don’t get an attacking manager then you have to justify that with massive results and trophies.

Carry on the way we are going we are going to be the next Newcastle.

People need to start voting with their feet, stop buying the overpriced tickets to watch a mid table side, you are paying the most expensive prices in world football to watch performances like today.
Stop buying the beer and food in the stadium
Stop buying the merchandise

The only thing Levy understands is money, until he starts getting hit in his wallet he won't give a single fuck about what's happening on the pitch. While he's filling the venue and getting his boxing and NFL money he won't care. Get it through your heads the guy doesn't care about Spurs success he answers to the shareholders. The trophy haul should tell you everything you need to know.

Stop making excuses for this shit and wake the fuck up.

It doesn't make you less of a supporter, boycott it precisely because you care about the club.

Otherwise you deserve everything you are getting

This won't be popular but its the truth.

We have a manager who is used to setting up and coaching a 3 at the back system. We have multiple defenders who are used to playing in a 3 at the back system. Yet we don't use it.

At this point it is worth a gamble.
It might make us more solid from a defensive POV, but because we lack CBs who are comfortable on the ball, there's every chance we'd be still be as ugly as hell in possession, and the danger with someone like Nuno is that it would end up being a flat back 5 a lot of the time. The other complicating factor is our midfield. I can't see how we can put together a satisfactory midfield from our available options. We don't have a single midfielder I would not sell.

By Harry dropping in as the 10 I meant Harry plays as the 10 behind the attack. Not Harry drops onto the bench.
Ah I see. I think the point stands though. I really begin to feel like he is one of the issues.

No matter what he says he no longer wants to be here.

You can be the ultimate professional but if your heart isn’t in it then you aren’t going to be the best you there is.
