Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

But he would still score far less in this Tottenham side against better sides than he would against the same teams Kane scores most of his goal against. He's already showed that to an extent with Dortmund.
LOL Son has scored just as many non penalty goals as Kane since the start of last season. (both with 19). To think that a player like Haaland wouldn't score just as many goals is just delusional. He'd also do it with more efficiency and a better shot conversion rate.

I genuinely have no idea what you're babbling about. Non penalty goals? What the fuck.

What part of "against the better sides" are you not quite understanding? I've said nothing about how many Haaland would or wouldn't score over a season in the Premier League.

What?

Jesus Christ.

You're clearly just trying to wind me up now.
Take out penalties and Son's probably got a better goal contribution record than Kane over the past 2-3 seasons, or very close. I have seen a tweet before that I posted on here but can't find it. Son also does it more efficiently as well with a higher goal conversion rate and higher goals above xG.

To think that Kane is one of the best strikers in the world when he hasn't been the biggest attacking threat on the team that finished 6th and 7th last season is ridiculous.

You're still not getting it.
Haha you're in denial. It's ok mate. We understand you're a Kane fanboy. Happens to the best of us.

I had to admit this weekend that Ndombele is never likely to have a LT future with us but i've come to terms with it.

It's time you come to your senses as well.

You're just not getting the point I was making. Have a word with yourself, I can't do it for you.

Edit: I've never once said Haaland wouldn't score as many as Kane in the Premier League. I clearly only said that he wouldn't score against the better sides all the time if he played for us, just as he often hasn't scored against the better sides in the Champions League when playing for Dortmund. I literally can't make it any more clear now. If you still don't get it, you've got issues.

He didn't want to bench Kane because he was our star player, our top scorer in both the league and joint in the CL, and if the medical staff gave him the nod that he was ready, it made total sense to play him.

The whole fanfare over Kane playing in that final is laughable. Liverpool were a far better team than us that season and they were big favourites regardless. Lucas wasn't suddenly Messi because he'd turned up for one game vs Ajax. Van Djik that year could make any striker in world football look crap.

Sissoko gave away a pen early and the better team saw out the game. With or without Kane it would have been much the same.
Kane was bullied by Van Dijk in that final in Madrid. Invisible on the night.

He was indeed, I'm not claiming for a moment he had a good game. I just can understand why Poch was tempted in to starting him, and still believe if we start Lucas instead we lose the game.
It was a baffling decision to start him. Kane even in his pomp always took a few games to get going at the start of a season (not scoring in August) or coming back from an injury.

I don't think it was baffling. Questionable yes, but baffling?

He was our top scorer + by far the biggest name player at the club. I'm sure he was begging Poch to start and the medical team must have given their okay. Maybe he was banging them in during training as well, who knows?

I can see why he would have made either decision. Kane also had a pretty good record vs Liverpool back then. Lucas was very hard done by but it wasn't like the Ajax game was something he consistently came up with. He wasn't on Kane's level on a regular basis.

But I did tell you so.

What a crock of shit, that loads of people didn’t rate Kane and wanted him sold
LOL 😂

We did. RESPECT THE COCK RESPECT THE COCK todd1882 todd1882 myself, several others, maybe not as loudly as you Sammy!

For me it's not 'don't rate' just a crumbling body I see before me, who cannot bring the vibrancy I want with quick perpetual movements from 3/4 at least of attacker players, whilst attacking, where as Kane almost always stops when getting the ball, or once on the ball.

This might not be soo bad, except our team are constantly looking for H, so we are trying to find a far too often static target, who also won't contest any header unless a big game and is poor at bringing down long balls (as his suppleness and athleticism is largely now shot and poor from youth anyway).

He's a great player, at City will probably score a bucket load (or wherever he goes), if they can afford him to just move into position to smash goals in, but, in most modern tactics which need gestalt type team play he just doesn't fit, he'll charge towards a defender, or run back, but can't consistently or with any conviction as we all know he's running scared of injury and piss poor cardio.

Would start Son, or Gil as false 9, if in Nuno's shoes. Give Harry some time on the bench to recover after lots of games and a lot of mental energy spent regarding his situation.

Soo sad.
