I said I can understand why the manager did it, based on what Reguilon did vs West Ham. I didn't expect Davies to have a great game, he's one of many players at the club who aren't good enough for us. I wasn't about to have a meltdown over a couple of different players starting. Do I think Davies is usually better defensively than Reguilon? Marginally, but they're both shit at it.
The issue is the team, not individuals. Liverpool can play Milner RB where he's utterly shit and they look fine as a unit. My biggest criticism by far from that half is how soulless we are as a side, Davies has obviously played very poorly, but he's an easy target. If we throw Reguilon on now it's not suddenly going to make a big difference.
Maybe Nuno thought Davies would offer more height to go up against Ronaldo, I don't know. But it's not these kind of decisions that are fucking them, it's the way he wants us to play.
We are just so bad going forward. It’s true that the lack of creativity was an issue for late stage Poch and Mourinho but it’s never been this bad. At least Poch tried that mental 442 diamond, unbalanced as it was. Mourinho moved Kane into the 10 position and took him to another level. What is Nuno’s solution to our diabolical attack? Swapping Ndombele for Gio is not an answer. There needs to be a pattern of play. Not this freestyle shit.
