But that contract means he stays with us until the end of it. Unless terms are met that we are happy for that to be terminated.
And it also mean we deal with whatever he serves up then. So what's the problem? He trains and is available for selection...contractual terms fulfilled. We should stop bitching about then...
That's not a fully acceptable answer to you is it? Then I suggest you don't take this approach.
He can't have thought we were realistically going to win the league, so why sign a six year contract?
Why not? Everyone else did. We were the best team in the league in 16-17 in stats and on the eye test. So why not? Levy sold everyone on it..."Watch Us Rise" my man...everything will be different with the new stadium, etc etc. Most were caught off-guard by his greedy and perfidious ways. So why wouldn't Kane have been affected too? Plus, you are discounting the fact that he was doing the club a solid by signing that contract but assigning negative incentives to Kane for doing it. The club was offering because he could have left us high and dry at that time and you are slightly revising things here.
He's actually paid an obscene amount of money to kick a bit of leather around, and "not a normal job" notwithstanding there's an expectation from all that you do your best.
Would that be like a gentleman's agreement, an unwritten rule that could mean different things to different people? If Kane had breached his contract we'l have sued him.
You are paid to train. We've heard it many a time. Selection is at the manager's discretion. If Kane ain't up to it then we should play one of our other strikers...oops! Performances of a players are not guaranteed. It's up to the club to provide the conducive environment to get it out of them. .
When you sign for a club there is also an expectation that the chairmen would do his best to produce a winning club and environment...that is the purpose of the game right? Imagine singing your career away and being faced with going 3 consecutive TWs with no signings?
I've seen the behavior of folks on this board. I think it's rich for folk's to suggest this amazing standard of behavior for Harry as if they would be that way themselves in their real lives. I find it laughable. It was predictable and predicted so we shouldn't blame Harry for behavior that 99.9% of people on this board and of players would do. It's friggin hypocrisy and it feels like blaming the scorpion for stinging us. It's also why we should have sold him. We didn't have all the leverage we though we (some) thought we had. It's just that happy clappers imputed superhuman expectation on a human.
And he can be another player that nearly did Shearer's record but fell short and lost his way.
Yeah, he will also be that by playing in a shitty team like we are right now. Not sure that anyone can fathom double digit league goals for him ATM.
