Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Dropping Kane with no backup won't be pretty. It works against City because literally no one else plays like them.

Any other opposition and it will be Spurs struggling to make anything stick. Teams sitting deep and allowing crosses galore as there's no target. Any win would be Son scoring his only shot on goal against the run of play. Aka nearly all our games when Kane has been out the last few years. Goldfish memory shit.

I doubt Conte will have our pass and move to such level we can make do with 3 small fast attackers up top either. Not any time soon anyway.

See two posts above yours. We've won plenty of games without Kane over the years. Even since the beginning of last season, we've been relatively ok. Imagine if we had a striker that could actually offer movement and some ability to press. Would be a different side.

Against PL Teams Since Last Season w/o Kane Starting

Man City (PL) - 1-0 Win
Wolves (PL) 1-0 Win
Chelsea (EFL) - 1-1 Win on Penalties
Southampton (PL) - 2-1 Win

Chelsea (PL) - 1-0 Loss
Brighton (PL) - 1-0 Loss

4 wins, 2 losses

Sons been poor for a few games

Kane’s been utter shit for the whole season

Son's been utter shit for the whole season as well. He's had the same amount of actually good games as Kane has: one, against Aston Villa. He managed to get a couple of goals before that, but he was playing terribly.

I'd love to hear the other games you've come away from thinking Son has played well in.

We only have 3+ years of data but yes. Keep waiting.

Kane’s been shit and should be dropped but I’m going to type 50000 words every post defending him

Even for a world-class player like Kane, if his focus drops, his form and performance will suffer. This is one of Conte's main immediate tasks: to assess if Kane is 100 % for Spurs or if his mind is still "disturbed" after the missed Man City transfer. Even top professionals have emotional issues - even Kane.
IF Man City comes in with a £120m+ bid I'd take it.

50000 words? Where? You're a compulsive liar, me thinks. I know people have already diagnosed you, but I think this is more accurate. Just can't help but make stuff up.

I'm not interesting in 'defending' Kane, he's been shit. I'm interested in the straight up lies that he's causing Son/Lucas to also be shit, or that he's playing especially badly compared to them. Boring agendas designed to scapegoat one man don't sit well with me.

They won't, sadly. If there ever was a chance of getting this amount of money, that's gone .. unless he massively turns his form around.

Lol why is it that when someone criticizes Kane, the fanboys always try to deflect and try to point the finger at someone else. It's It's the team! Nuno! It's the defense! It's the midfield! It's Son! It's Moura! He just had a baby!

Yet whenever Kane goes out, we actually win and get results.

Kane's performances are down to nothing but himself. He's been shit, in isolation. I don't think Nuno's tactics helped (or the fact we have zero creativity in midfield, this helps none of our attackers) but the way he's playing right now is his own problem.

It's you trying to blame Kane for the other players shit performances. All of them are playing badly, but equally all of them are struggling with our lack of creativity from midfield.

He's clearly trying. He's just in a serious physical decline since his injuries. He has been for 2-3+ years now.

We're just noticing it more now given it's gotten to the point where he can't perform against average sides.

His decline is similar to Rooney's who also peaked around 24-25 years old and was in the MLS by 32.

Kane and Rooney's peak and subsequent decline have been similar.

Both were around a similar age when they hit their respective peaks (~25 years old).

Below are PL goals scored for both players.

Kane
17-18 (age 24-25): 30 goals
18-19: 17 goals
19-20: 18 goals
20-21: 23 goals
21-22: 1 goal in 9 apps

Rooney
09-10 (age 24-25): 26 goals (PFA POTY)
10-11: 11 goals
11-12: 27 goals
12-13: 12 goals
13-14: 17 goals
14-15: 12 goals
15-16: 8 goals
16-17: 5 goals
17-18: 10 goals (w/ Everton)
2018: Playing in MLS at age 32

Imagine telling Man Utd fans that Rooney was showing signs of decline and will be no longer elite during the 11-12 season when he scored 27 goals... I'm sure they would have laughed and brushed it off.

Both statistics and the eye test point to the fact that Kane is in a serious decline....

Two days ago I said “you wanted him dropped” and he replied:
“That was under Nuno”

Now look at him, embarrassing
