Ndombele / Skipp / Kessie

....Too defensive for your liking?

I think Ndombele & Gio are too 'luxury' to play both.

That midfield would rely on the two up front to create a lot for themselves. I think they would do a better job of getting the ball from the back 3 to the front players but not likely to be making many, or even any, key passes to create space for them.

Also not many goals or ability for runners coming late into the box from that midfield 3.

Edit: I think it would be an ok option to get us to the summer but not good enough if that were our first choice MF for next season.

If Conte can knock us into shape - IF - coaching wise and tactically, get us cohesive and hard working without the ball, I think against a few teams in the PL I'd risk trying Lo Celso and Ndombele as 8's either side of a decent 6 - in the 352 - it's a structure that should (with Conte's coaching) be able to accommodate it.

I am willing to accept ultimately it may not work, and I do think we should be looking for quality midfielders 6's and 8's regardless as we are bereft, even with GLC and Ndombele in the squad - especially while neither has been able to nail it so far - be that their fault, the shit show we've been tactically from the first moment they arrived - or a bit of both.

...I'd still only see it as a possible experiment for the second phase of our teams development under Conte (should he/we make it that far!).

Right now it's a lot clearer to me what Ndombele can potentially offer; hence - of the two - he gets the nod from me.

As per previous... Ndombele / Skipp / Kessie? ....Too defensive in your opinion?

As for squad building:

Ndombele* (Gio*) / Skipp (PEH) / Kessie (Sarr)
(*Or replacements)

= Fair depth IMO.

I don’t think you could ever play all of PEH, Skipp and Kessie together at the same time. That’s the nagging part of it.

What we need above all else is for 2014 Christian Eriksen to magically reappear.

He’d cost eleventy trillion pounds today, how on earth did we get that deal out of Ajax who know young talent when they see it.
I absolutely beg to differ. What we need is a Dembele. Even Eriksen looked a shadow of himself after Dembele left.

why romagnoli and not ginter, isnt he on last yr too, i would vastly prefer ginter, quality defender

cheap deal

kessie cheap deal

isak for 70-80 mill

kane goes

80-100 mill

wirtz next summer

60-70 mil

gakpo beast

40-60

sell alot of the deadwood too

onana free

those are the sort of players we need
The reason is Romagnoli is left footed, so natural ideal for the left sided center half role.. Right now Conte has to use Ben Davies despite he's bang average.

He's been out injured for 5 months (and he's still out), turning 29 in March and he's never been tested outside of Italia and won't come cheap...
TBF, when you put it like that, it's got Spurs written all over it, and if there were a young British left back tearing up the Championship and available for a reasonable fee as an alternative, I'd almost say you could start printing the Spinazzola Spurs shirts already...

I don't think Lo Celso and Ndombele are likely to change and all of a sudden become good enough for what we need, but as a temporary solution to the summer they certainly are better options than guys like PEH and Moura.

My concern with getting Kessie is that instead of being the PEH upgrade that he is we would end up playing him with PEH. I don't think Conte is that dumb and my concern is lessened with him here but we still are Spurs with morons like Levy and Paratici at the top so anything is possible.

I'm pretty confident that Conte will like and Play Lucas regularly.
