Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

One thing I would say is that these players with a shit manager (Nuno) had the underlying stats of a team battling relegation. A drift towards that part of the table is something Levy/Lewis might fear enough to do the necessary to keep a good manager (Conte) from walking out the door.
If Nuno had stayed i have no doubt we'd have been right in the mix for relegation this season, its such a strong league and 90% of our players just dont give a shit and are sub standard to boot.

Appreciate a lot of what's said here

But let's be honest , if Levy fails to back Conte & he leaves , what is really going to happen as a consequence to Levy and Enic ?

A few bed sheet protest banners ? some mild booing of Levy's name at home matches ?

Nothing worse than that , we could let Conte walk and replace him with Sol Campbell and at least 50,000 morons would still turn up for the next league game and buy a beer & burger for 20 quid or whatever they are charging these days

There are no real consequences for Enic and therefore no real motivation to spend what's needed to fix this mess of a squad
Like I said, their shamelessness can always save them and you might be right. But I also think we can’t understate what would happen both among our fans and in the media if it really flops with Conte.

It’ll be full repetitional death of Levy and ENIC. While it’s been a frustrating few years. DL can legitimately point to the new stadium, the Pochettino years, and the UCL final as the sign of ENIC’s ambition and success.

Among the journalist and professional class, I think there’s still a begrudging respect for Levy while acknowledging his failures. If we flop now, I think his reputation goes into a death spiral. Say what you will, but Levy is a prideful man. A flop now and he’s the new Mike Ashley. I don’t think he can abide that.

The fact he even made that comment after just a few games in charge is bizarre to say the least.

He was sold a better set of under performing players, it's clear.

However, I must say I think the transition to higher intensity, mid-season, probably has players trying beyond the level they should, to impress, in training, and leaving 5-10% intensity potential drained due to this.

Hope so anyway. Because we are incoherent right now from the off in games.

We'll need £150M to get us looking OK if he signs's 4 hits in 4 (with our record?!?!) and sells a few, just can't see Levy doing it, but he better or he's fucked (Levy).

I wouldn't count on that. When Pochettino used the media to make his differences with Levy known the overwhelming majority on here backed.......Levy.

To our eternal shame.
That was coming off 4 straight top fours and a UCL final. The mood about our players, club, and status was decidedly different. And Pochettino was sulking rather than expressing righteous indignation. I thought sacking Poch was a folly, but he was being a moody tit. He wasn’t exactly clearly communicating what was wrong, who was to blame, or what was needed.

I think most all acknowledge belatedly or not that he was 100% right about the necessity of a rebuild. Benefit of hindsight.

I'm not impressed by the Conte quotes.
He has seen the players in training and he fecking picked 'em.
Subbing Rodon off instead of Sanchez proved an incorrect decision.
