Not true

Without a good squad overhaul its unlikely we get into europe neext season or any future season.

And that in turn means (1) less prize money opportunities - 90 m to get to CL final, (2) Less matches if no europe equals less match day revenues and (3) less commercial income as Spurs will be less attractive to sponsors

That's why more money will be spent on the squad - and its not lack of money spent buying Ndombele for £60m, Lo Celso £40m, Sanchez £40m but bad choice of player buying
 
Conte's first choice XI from the players we currently have:

Lloris
Romero Dier Davies
Emerson Hojbjerg Skipp Reguilon
Lucas Kane Son

Now we know the whole squad and first team needs work. I put in bold the areas that are a priority to get better players. There are 6 positions there, I think we can get 6 by the end of the summer window (2-3 in January, 3-4 more in the summer). The players in bold then become the squad players and our depth improves a bit.

I'm not saying these are the definite players to get, just giving an example:

Romero De Vrij De Ligt
Lamptey Phillips Brozovic Reguilon
Raphinha Kane Son​

reserves:

?????
Tanganga Dier Davies
Emerson Hojbjerg Skipp ?????
Lucas ????? ?????​

Even after 6 signings,we'd still have some holes in the squad. But things would start to look a lot better. If we can get a couple of extra free transfers in (Bale would be an example) we should do that in addition, to speed up the process of our squad building.

It's big, but it's not impossible to make 2-3 good signings in January and 3-4 good signings in the summer (aiming for 6 overall, realistically) to drmatically improve our starting XI and by extension, squad depth (once current starters become reserves).

Conte won’t do anything here because he won’t get the players he needs, he will then create trouble and we will be back to square one.

We need a Potter or similar project manager, not another head coach who demands money and sticks to a rigid system.

Also, Conte’s European record is abysmal (look it up).

Agree about Potter. Or Ten Haag. However these guys will look at how we have gone through Poch, Jose, Nuno and eventually Conte within 3 years and they will just think it's not worth the hassle working for Levy.

Mate we are playing fucking Mura, half of them are plumbers or plasterers. He has fielded 11 PREMIER LEAGUE players paid shit loads of money, should be more than capable of winning . The depth in our squad is horrific

Agreed. I think Conte gambled on this being the game he could rotate, rest a few for the busy schedule coming up and take a look at some of the squad players too.

He didn't think they could be this bad, but at least he knows now.

We need an experienced director of football and a plan & structure in place. Not an evil dictator and short term managers like Jose and Conte.

Club is a mess.

Exactly. Also he's had three weeks it took many many posters on here way longer to truly behold the epic fucking shitness of Doherty. You still here half hearted attempts to sell the BS he is better than Aurier. Like fuck not on his best day and not on Serges worse one. Think he is the poorest player I have ever seen play at my club.

Lloris, Romero, Kane, Son are quality. Most of the rest are way off the required standard. But we all know Levy will never spend the City/Chelsea level money needed to fix this.

If you want to pick a better XI for this game, then it would mean even taxing more mileage on our better players. They're already in an uphill battle in the league. Without needed rotation, I dread for the later part of the season in the league.

Our reserves are crap. They really are. It's preferable to say the truth now after all the failure, including under Poch's best years. We don't have the squad depth. Quantity is not quality. There are so many of the dross that can't be trusted to even grind out result in League Cup, EL, and now ELC. Being diplomatic helps noone at this point.
