Jose getting this Spurs team to a Caraboa cup final and also having them at 1st/2nd till January last season is one of the best achievements of his career. This team is beyond finished.
Genuinely think Conte is already regretting coming here. We're a shambles, and will be while Levy remains.
I dunno, I think he knew what he was getting in to, and understood the scale of the challenge. The moment he may regret it is if/when he doesn't get the backing he was promised to build an actually competent side here.
That'll be the crunch time. It was pretty obvious this wasn't going to be an overnight transformation, the rot in this squad goes far too deep for a new manager to come in mid-season and make everything great. Fans are gonna have to be patient and cross our fingers in the hope Levy has finally realised serious and competent investment is needed.

He mentioned more than about "still being happy to be here after 3 weeks". Sounds a bit worrying to me, though maybe I'm over-thinking it. Clearly we're even more shit than he expected if nothing else.
What if levys plan is to get as much juice out of Conte as possible until he resigns (as that means no compensation) and then Mason would have 'learnt' enough to be able to do what Conte does because this squad is amazing with world class stars like dele , winks, davies, sanchez etc.Part of me is glad a performance like this has happened. Imagine we won all our games until Jan? That would give that tight bastard Levy an excuse not too spend any money. Us getting embarrassed like that to a bunch of goat herders and Conte’s comments tonight, means Levy has got nowhere too hide anymore. Put up or shut up Levy. Sort this rancid squad out once and for all
After 3 weeks I'm starting to realise I should have waited a bit longer and got the job I really wanted at United.Conte tonight 'After three weeks I am starting to understand the situation. It is not simple. At this moment the level at Tottenham is not so high.”

Inter still top of the table and heavy titles for the title despite no Conte. Oh wait they're also qualified for the champions league and not bottom of the group.
Can thus guy only win titles when he has no European football to play?
This exactly. I've been ambivalent about the Levy thing, for reasons expressed by many on here before, but after the vociferous revolt during united, Levy has nowhere else to go. For the future of our club, tonight doesn't matter as much as Conte's words and the forthcoming window, and now much more this one than the summer one.Fascinating two months upcoming and if you’ve been paying attention you can see one side (Conte/Paratici) beginning to line up their brigades and trebuchets in preparation for battle.
Make no mistake, Conte and Paratici have absolutely zero to gain from ENIC penny pinching, they can both walk at any moment and get a top job anywhere in Europe. Levy has nothing over them. They’ll align against Levy/Cullen/Caplehorn and the ENIC insiders if it’s required.
Conte’s comments tonight are a shot across ENIC’s bow, there are acceptable excuses for inaction in January. He doesn’t care how “hard” it is.
This is also clear from another obvious chess move this week from Conte/Paratici, their very well documented in person training ground meeting with DiMarzio. You don’t think they gave him an off the record briefing on expectations and transfer plans? Then they publicly posed for pictures with him to say this guy knows us and can be trusted. A message to the fans.
Watch very closely going forward what DiMarzio, Romano, and other Italian journalists report compared to what’s coming out of the standard English media. Any differentiation will be the first signs of behind the scenes turmoil.
Conte and Paratici know they have Levy over the barrel. It’s a miracle we pulled Conte after Pochettino, Mourinho, Mason, two month coaching search, Nuno debacle. They hold all the cards against Levy, they are the only things keeping the fans from Levy’s throat. Levy’s only card is his own shamelessness, which admittedly is quite significant.
Every Spurs fan knows the score, if you can’t make it work with Conte, then you’re even more unfit than most of us think. Conte won’t hesitate to use the media to his advantage like he did tonight, in a very mild fashion by his standards, and 95% of fans will take his side.
The battlelines are drawn and Levy has minuscule margin of error and nowhere to hide. If nothing moves in January, it’s just a matter of time until Conte and Paratici are out and the fans will be in full revolt.
Tell me where touched you.Don't know why people are saying it's on the players. Any premier league team should top that group easily.
Conte is a known fraud when it comes to Cups that is NEVER going to change
We beat City with Nuno and with Jose as well. This competition, 'a trophy that you get laughed at for being in, and laughed at for winning, may well be our saving grace for telling a no nonsense, world class, says it as it is, manager that a clear out is needed NOW.
Watching City last night, who tactically we were the equal of for many years under Poch, despite their spending and reserves, and the inability of most of our players to be able to control, pass and move tonight was frightening as it was enlightening.
Perhaps.
Honestly, if Levy doesn't back him and he ends up being sacked/resigning, that should be the big moment in terms of a vast majority of the fans turning on ENIC/Levy. Any faith or goodwill left from the Poch era will be gone at that point, nobody will believe they can get us competing again.
I have my suspicions that the Conte appointment was a desperate move to appease fans and still have huge doubts that we'll actually see the big windows we need, but wait and see I suppose..
