Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think he fecked up big style tonight. He's only been here 5 minutes and he should have not made so many changes. He seems to be in too much of a hurry.

You're talking crap.... Why?

Aside form 300m vs 7m XIs....

Most of the incoming fringe players like Doherty & Dele are the ones you typically white knight for.

Oh yea and look at how good things are turning out at Barcelona. One of the the biggest clubs in the world and and getting their butts whipped by Benfica. After pep, theyve just gone more and more downhill.
Barca's issues are the opposite of Spurs.

We were spending at 105% of the club's revenue on salaries The wage bill is better now but still too high.

Not sure why people think I'm concerned about PSG I made this account long before PSG got Messi

Yeah he ain’t making it to January is he

Perhaps you can tell us what you think we ought to have done between him joining and the opening of the trf window?

Too many people are talking like we should have lavished him with new players already whilst ignoring the obvious fact that the window wasn't going to open for another 2 months.

FFS, at least put your razor blades down until then cos there's literally nothing we can do to placate the bloke until then.

The risk is the dressing room may turn on him here. He is saying in public that most of them are shit.
Good, hope they turn on him. Then he turns on them and rips them a new one. The challenge we face is getting these players out of the club and getting better players in.

Fuck their feelings, they're mostly dog-shit players who should have been binned off years ago. I guarantee you the majority of those players are never going to a bigger, better club than Spurs. Half of them won the football lottery signing for us in the first place.

Conte is a boss, it's time for him to wield the axe in brutal fashion.

I just can’t seem to warm to Conte. He’s an egotistical maniac and a ticking bomb, he doesn’t suit Spurs at all, neither did Jose.

I’m not keen on old fashioned ‘hard love’ type managers. I prefer the modern, progressive coaches. Conte will not be here long and we’re back to the drawing board.

And that wouldn't be a lie.

Truth be told, the ones that would turn on him aren't worth keeping anyway.

They are the same ones that turn on every manager we get, fuck them.

We are carrying around too much dead weight at this club because Levy has long overrated the players we have.

Time to listen to Conte and get some players through the door that can do the job and take this club to another level.

Not living in fans dreamland doesn't make me a troll. Conte is a fans appointment so obviously there's going to huge optimism but it's just a sign of a short sighted sporting project.

Barcelona and Liverpool don't go for the big name managers for a reason. It's about long term stability and building a project. Clubs like Chelsea and PSG where you have unlimited money go for the Contes of the footballing world as they'll spend.

Tottenham historically has never been that club, Levy isn't going to turn a new leaf and become Roman Abramovic, a project is needed and Potter would have been the one.

A reliance on youth and clearing the dead weight with an up and coming manager would have set the course straight

Hahahah.. You joker.... Look at your fucking project you deluded clown..... Spend spend spend spend spend.... Ooops we haven't got another Messi/Xavi/Iniesta/Pep golden generation to supplement the fact that we've been hemorrhaging money on galactico busts and churning through managers...... Now we're fucked.

"Project" 🤡

I don't think Conte gives two scoops of deep fried shit if they turn on him or not.

He's basically saying that a lot of them will be at new clubs in January & next Summer.

How big a player you are doesn't mean anything to him, see Diego Costa when he was Chavs' manager, that's a similar mentality Ferguson had at Man Utd (see Beckham, Keane, Stam as examples there), didn't hurt him did it?

ENIC / Levy are a massive failure. End of Story. Nothing changes as long as they're at the helm.

That's how it should be and has always been at successful clubs. The manager has to have complete control over the dressing room.

One of our weaknesses is we've allowed players on lucrative long-term deals to be comfortable with mediocrity knowing it's easier to get rid of the manager than get rid of them.

It isn’t about what we should be doing right now til January

It’s about everything we have done in the past few years to get to this point

Mistake after mistake after mistake

To have a squad this inept is embarrassing and shameful

Some are suggesting Conte may have gone too far and players may turn on him. I agree with a few replies saying 'bring it on'. Usually, a manager is easier to get rid of than the players. But that's without reading the dynamic that's happened with our club the last few months (years).
Levy has to back the manager in this situation. Politics dictate that he has to. Where does he go from here if he doesn't? Re-stating, ambivalent till now on the CEO, but it is crunch time.

I also don't think any players would have the front to unite against him, a proven winner.
If they do, I'm reminded of what the great Billy McNeill said after managing Celtic for a brief time.
Paraphrasing,
'some of these players don't know what it means to play for Celtic football club. They'll soon know what it means to leave Celtic Football Club'.

How are there a few people here criticising Conte for tonight? The majority of these players haven't performed consistently enough under 4 managers now, I wonder who the problem is 😂

I'm not worried about their feelings. I'm worried that the players stop playing for him at all and we lose games heavily and his position becomes untenable. We cannot replace every player. At least not in one go. And we aren't even in December yet, let alone January.
