I think we need to recognise that enic have failed with regards to spend in the last few years but it's how they've spent and also almost more importantly how they sold players - we sold fn Eriksen for what?

It's incredible how much we've spent on utter drivel, sisoko Sanchez Ndombele GLC Gill(looking poor) Doherty etc but we know Levy may digg his heels in when offloading these guys - sell them (shitsoko gone) get some cash free, up wages and start again - but levy can't and won't do that - not in a million years, specially after those horrific financials. Either levy goes of conte will - I honestly see conte walking come Feb.

I ask you again....... If Conte leaves tomorrow, what could we have done to change that? Bearing in mind he was cool to sign a contract a few weeks ago? .....You wouldn't just see that as being a bit fickle on his part? ....Maybe even a little lacking in research on his part too?

Personally, I think he's just trying to assert leverage to ensure he get what he wants from Levy in January... Surely you should embrace that given what you profess to want in terms of spending?

Exactly. Until January theres no need for any big complaints. Reiterating how the players are shit and we need to sell almost everyone is fine though. So far its all positive from Conte. This 'reported 400m on transfers and wages' , I am sceptical about. It probably includes some small print about when it will be spent but we will see.

not sure Levy still thinks this way
he paid off Aurier,
maybe he now see's that keeping these players and paying their wages is a waste of money, take the loss early then it's gone hold on it costs more

Won’t work though , the majority are firmly supporting Conte over ENIC . This appointment really could be the final straw for them . Conte will walk if he feels he’s got an impossible job with no support & he won’t keep quiet about it. 3 weeks in & he’s saying what Poch hinted at after 4 years , Redknapp too.

He's Italian and when he says he does not want to talk to the players he means it won't do any good anyway. When he says he ain't scared it means I can fck off any time. When he talks about a lack of being competitive - he fn means it.

Tottenham historically has never been that club, Levy isn't going to turn a new leaf and become Roman Abramovic, a project is needed and Potter would have been the one.

A reliance on youth and clearing the dead weight with an up and coming manager would have set the course straight

Levy, acting the coward as usual, only appointed Conte to get the fans off his back.

He's a great manager, but every manager ultimately fails under ENIC because they have no intention of backing them or in the team winning trophies.

The states don't lie. 0 trophies since 2008 coinciding with this

While this is a risk, I think we have tried the "nicey-nicey" approach with the last couple of managers, even Mouse seemed to have an arm around the players alot. And he is saying as a squad they need to improve not individuals, (although I think we all know who they would be). I am open for this stern approach because from what I can see they need a rocket up their ass.

That table speaks volumes. Us, Newcastle, Woolwich, although the latter invested in 2021 so we're even further behind.
 
I’m genuinely worried that Conte will decide to walk away from this shit show. He’s never been faced with such a bunch of misfits and such a lack of quality. What’s in it for him? Genuinely? We have to show him complete backing. From the terraces to the boardroom. He’s our only hope of getting back to a Top 6 side.

today we barely have 8 players of a good level: kane, lucas, son, PEH, reguilon, romero, hugo, dier.
with time maybe emerson royal, skipp, gil, tanganga could become good, but today especially the bench is a real problem

If the players are right, it is even more than enough.

I would say 4 players, if they would be
Quality CB
Quality passing CM
Quality AM
Quality striker

This would absolutely do wonders for us. I like Skipp and PEH, but we don't progress the ball fast enough and decisevly enough through the middle. Put there capable AM in Eriksen mould and capable CM in Kroos mould and everything about our team and play would be different.

I am not saying we would jump up to Liverpool level - no, it is not enough for that. But it would make us play significantly better.

Again I say why play 5 defenders against NS?
Especially when you know that the WBs are not good enough. One just back from injury. The play Dav at LCB with jasphet at RCB. Then switches him to LB. Why not start him at LCB and play Dav in his favoured RCB role. To compound he takes off Rodon who was better than the rest instead of Dav.
Also why play dele as Left forward his never played there? Everyone criticised Nuno for playing on the right? Surely we could have dropped a defender put dele in behind Kane and may be played Gil and moura?
I’m not having this shit that we need to invest £100Ms to beat the likes of NS. Ffs Nuno beat them 5-1.
Conte should not be above criticism.
Yea he needs time but surely he could improve us in some area without splashing the cash. Who we goons buy in jan that is magically going to improve is. He needs to start earning his corn and get the team/ squad to play better.
We need to be on the front foot against teams like NS yet we were so deep even with 11 bcos we play back 3. Not sure we are gonna be a front foot team. Look at the Everton gane where we created nothing and had no real ambition to win the gane. They have been awful and we’re without key players. We just let them attack us. Since they have reverted to type. Bit more ambition and we would have won that game.
Conte has a free hit this season so he should use it and just say to the players go for it. In the background he can improve their fitness and motivation whilst looking at next season to build.

Still don't get it, still questioning the manager when the players are utter garbage.

That all sounds good - my only "worry" is that it's a bit of ask to bring the four - the four that AC and FP want, not cut-price fob-offs - in January

Most definitely.

In terms of their ability and achievements in the game, the club is basically this:

1. Conte (way out infront at number 1)


2. Lloris (Quality for years and a World Cup winner)


3. Kane and Son (Our two best outfield players, although they have won fuck all)


4. - There is nobody else.
