just get rid of VAR. its total bullshit and is never about getting decisions right. How do they not intervene in one instance but do in another.

They get involved in an offside decision that is not clear and obvious unless you replay it dozens of times, freeze frame it and draw lines that aren't straight. However the foster drop is a clear and obvious keeper mistake yet VAR do NOT get involved there.

Why? They just drew them from the furthest viable points for each player.
Except the line drawn for the Soton player was in the middle of the foot and in all likelihood the Soton player's shoulder/arm/whatever is further back than his foot is which means it should have been drawn there.

Additionally, apparently IFAB changed the rules for 2021/22 and said the bottom of the armpit is where lines should be drawn when a player is leaning like that (last year it was the end of the sleeve, but that's changed) and so Harry would have been clealry on.

That’s the problem there is no consistency, VAR should be a last resort, it should only intervene if there is a clear error or if the ref wants to check something. Offside was always about preventing goal hanging, That’s why there was always benefit of doubt for attackers, this his finger was offside is bollocks.

I mean we don’t even know if Kane was technically offside or not because of the camera angles, that is not the principle of offside.

Just see how many chances that Doc creates.
Watch for the disallowed goal where doc legally challenges the GK.
Watch for the gilt-edged chance he served up to Lucas.
There may be more but depends how MOTD edit the game.
If you are genuinely interested in his contribution watch the whole of the second half.
I did watch it, just really didn't think much of him. That disallowed goal wasn't a real attempt, he turned his back and didn't even try to head the ball - it was a keeper error that it went in. But he did try to get involved, I'll give him that.

I just googled 'matt doherty goals', because I honestly can't think of one and only one assist that was low-chance and all Kane's brilliance. TLDR; It's miserable reading.

Pretty sure that Lucas chance was one of his 'I better try to do something or they'll figure me out' moments. He's having a laugh!

Seriously, though, he's not good enough. Not even close.

EDIT: I will be happy to go full-Sissoko and recant all my allegations for half a season if he comes good at any point.

Then don’t put him on the bench then.

With Berg out and Gio barely 'back' an option is worthwhile even if they're not a preferred option.

Quite clear though after the last 4 games, that despite some wanking themselves silly over his assists against the dippers; that Conte sees a bigger picture based on performances, rather than moments...... A picture that doesn't have TN in it (He's played 11 minutes of a possible 270 since getting the hook despite a bunch of rotation).

I'm at the point where even though I wanted VAR initially, I want it gone without a doubt in my mind.

It doesn't actually fix anything, sometimes makes baffaling decisions, and sucks away the joy of celebrating goals.
That spontaneous feeling when a goal goes in just ain’t the same anymore cos your expecting some clown to over- rule it. That’s the moments you live for!

I dont like Conte's obsession with having 3 centrebacks on even when we are 11 vs 10 and need a goal badly. Its not lke Dier or Davies or Sanchez are going to suddenly turn into great attackers just because he has given them a licence to go forward.
I trust in Conte selection than any thoughts of yours. To criticise a manager that has dragged a team off the floor, with no new players, and then 7 games unbeaten, is disgraceful.
