Tanganga has probably started less than 15 games in his preferred position, he needs a chance to show what he can do.Being more comfortable than Sanchez is about the lowest bar possible and yet Tanganga is still behind him in the pecking order.
Sanchez will be dropped the minute Romero gets back anyway.
Fine to keep Tanganga around as emergency cover but lets be real he's never a top 6 defender. He's never looked commanding at CB and his most noticable displays have been at full back where he can focus on where he excels: 1v1 duels, rather than having to actually build possession.
James? James Ward P is that you?We have been shite at dead balls for years so I'd take James Ward Prowse all day long.
Tanga not suited to this set up imo. Love him but he’s a defender not a footballer. Like Sanchez, not comfortable enough on the ballTanganga has probably started less than 15 games in his preferred position, he needs a chance to show what he can do.
Rose and Walker came back infinitely better from their loan spells. If I’d have told you Rose was going to be pivotal to a team that challenged for the league and CL before he went to Sunderland you’d have laughed at me.
Look at the Chelsea academy players in their starting XI - both Mount and James came back better players from their loan spell at Derby.
Look at Skipp too and how last season improved him too. There are so many examples.
The problem for Tango is that he’s not good enough to command a starting place yet, but our lack of quality at the back has meant he’s too important to send on loan.
A season in the Bundesliga would be fantastic for him and unlike you, I do see a pathway for him to be a starting CB for a top 4 side, particularly in a back 3.
Progress isn’t always linear, Tango has enough tools to believe he can be a top CB, he needs a chance to play football on loan before we write him off.
So what we have already, but with lovely dead balls.James? James Ward P is that you?
No thanks, you absolute clogger. Lovely dead balls, erratic on the ball and another uncomfortable non footballer
Mate Tarkowski and Tanganga do you zero credit. They're proper weird shouts. Not really if you look at what most people also post.
But a vocal minority try to make it out like I am crazy.
Most fans here have listed their top 5 without Dier in them. Most posters have talked about how our CB's aren't good enough. Most posters say that Moura is a guy who should be a sub. It goes on and on.
Really? Some people who watch spurs every game think Dier is sensational and potentially worldclass. So theres that.

Spurs's stance on Lamptey as Paratici tries to close Traore transfer
TOTTENHAM are expected to be busy in the January transfer window.www.express.co.uk
"Wing-backs, centre-backs and forwards have been widely linked with Spurs, with Brighton’s Lamptey one of the names Express Sport understands to be of interest.
We understand £50million-rated Lamptey is of interest to both Spurs and north London rivals Woolwich.
But Spurs consider the 21-year-old to be too pricey, according to journalist Dean Jones. Managing director of football Fabio Paratici will instead crack on with his pursuit of Wolves ace Traore. "
"Conte is widely understood to feel that he can turn Traore into a wing-back in the same way he modified Victor Moses’ game when he was head coach at Chelsea"

"I didn't and don't expect us to make a bid, 50 million is probably our entire transfer. We aren't going to spend it on him."

"I find it hard to believe that Conte really wants this fella. Especially in light of his recently softening of his stance. More likely, "we can't afford the signing you want, it's Traore or nothing". "
Just barely okay because davies and tanganga have been worse. Makes far too many mistakes. If sanchez and lloris didnt save his ass, he is the reason we'd have dropped at least 6 points by now.

We will probably miss out because we are trying to save a fiver.
It's even more fundamental not to let the ball get crossed... However to go with our current inability to hit the byline and cross, at the other end we don't seem to be able to stop them either... What are out WBs doing? This.
It's a fundamental defending principle with clearing headers. High, wide and long. If you are unsure then you put it behind and let the defence get organised.
If true, this is a pretty damning assessment of our star signings if they feel that they're not even worth the risk in an inferior, slower league.
It's not a matter of the league; it's a matter of how little they have shown in a Spurs shirt.
"Hey Italy's biggest team........ Here's the players you need to help you get you back to the top of the pile"
Enter sick note Gio & lazy, grossly overpaid Ndombele.
Tough sell, right.
Also lazy/speculative Juve/Spurs chatter will be the norm now cos Paraticci.
The real joy for me this window will be seeing who we can fob off on Newcastle .
Dier made a mess vs Watford, Southampton, twice vs Westham, fell asleep vs Brentford, terrible vs Vitesse, fat slug vs Newcastle, really really shit vs Woolwich, league game vs chavs, almost gave away 2 goals in 2 minutes vs wolves,. probably more that i cant think of. Whenever theres a cross thats near dier, its very likely he wont reach it because of being so slow , its a scary moment and when he thinks he is messi and tries taking players on while being the deepest player. Thankfully sanchez has the speed to run back and get in the way when dier fucks up.Davies hasn’t been worse.
But whatever, we all see the same differently. When the ball is anywhere near Sanchez I clench my teeth. He’s good in the air and can judge tackles well, but he just can’t distribute the ball. I think he’ll be off in the Summer.
