You say the evidence is not fit for purpose but you're also using it as evidence that Conte wants Traore.

CRUX: It doesn't co-oberate your assertions.

I'm merely citing YOUR chosen article in the context of this conversation because YOU brought it to the table.....

1. You're highlighting the hypocrisy(*) of your attitude towards your source.
2. The content of the article (regardless of how credible I do/don't deem the writer) does not vindicate your "Told you so" stance.

(*)You want your cake and to eat it too.... All the more evident from this latest meta-diversion.

Yes. As an example of a player who's risk dictated a lower price-tag, Mr Muddywater....

I'm implying reply to your point.

You rambling on about players that with hindsight you'd rather not have signed is of no value to the progression of this discussion.

50 million is the going rate for somebody like Lampety,

Really? Pray tell how much would he be worth if he didn't have the huge injury question mark? ...That is IF you are heeding it like you claim.

60m... 70m... 80m....?

Just for fun; let's see how much TM thinks: Tariq Lamptey - Player profile 21/22

....and then by contrast: Trent Alexander-Arnold - Player profile 21/22

(TAA being a winner and WAY more proven, yet no injury question mark and still only 23!)

Yes I understand the dynamic of a bosman signing.

I'll say it again.... show ambition now.

A pre-contract signing of one or two top quality players for the summer shows ambition, it sparks momentum and gives Conte hope that the club will move in the right direction.

Sorry; this talk of showing "ambition" seems to be rather superficial considering:

A) Your talk of top 4 being available NOW
B) All the chatter you instigated (and doubled down on!) about January signings and the difficulties of any Jan being a mere excuse.

This may be as urgent as we can hope for but for me, a statement signing in the form of a player that can improve the first 11 is the bare minimum for a manager of Conte's ambition.

If all this is gonna amount to is a broader cry of "I hope we back Conte in the summer" then yeh; I sure as hell agree.

.........Not really the discussion your OG post presented though.

But you're using it as evidence yourself for your argument, if the evidence isn't fit for purpose as you claim, then you shouldn't be citing it.

Then I guess you shouldn't have mentioned him in the first place then.

You're the one saying there is a huge injury question mark, I would let the medical team do their job and if they find that there is some kind of long term problem, then I won't buy.

You are quite irritated aren't you.

Please see original post pasted below:

"I agree. Expecting Levy to stay loyal to his true priorities.

Conte is already making noises in the press conferences though so it'll be Levy's reputation destroyed if a clear statement of intent isn't made in this window.

Even if its just signing a couple of top quality free transfers for the summer."

......... I believe im hinting that it can wait until summer as long as ambition is shown now.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting my own post?

Kessie - FREE
Rudiger - FREE
Mbappe - FREE
Haaland - 60m (if you believe some quarters)

Safe to say who's gonna win the trf window in the summer. :avbnaa:
They are still a stellar draw even above Utd, Barca, Liverpool, Bayern and the oil cartoons

If I was a top player, it would be my choice regardless if I could get more elsewhere

Not sure if bollox but in portugal theyre saying weve made a 66.8 million pound bid for forward luis diaz.

FWIW, this link says we've offered £50.1M and it's the only "formal offer" Porto have received for him thus far.
