We’ll probably just swap traore in for Bergwijn out and that will be it. Conte has already looked a beaten man since the turn of the year. I suspect the disappointment of our performance in the transfer windows has got to him already.

Davies at LCB is way down my priority list for "must fix" at the club.
Is he great? No.
But he is solid and does the job to at least a minimally acceptable level.

MANY other positions on the team that is not true for. We should start there.

I will say that I'm guilty of overrating the majority of our squad for way too long. This year has shown that the so many are not even worthy of being squad players. Will take 2 years to do the rebuild needed.

In my opinion Adama would be capable of covering Doherty and Bergjwin's limited minutes (and being a better option than both).

You have to consider their contribution because in this case we need only one player to cover both positions rather than shelling out on a RWB and a back up forward. That frees up funds to use elsewhere.

Similarly I'd take one competent CM (e.g. Kessie/Brozovic) and ship out both Ndombele and Lo Celso in a heartbeat. Precisely because they have contributed so little over an extended period of time. This would improve the team.

It's not about replacing man for man or having X number of players in the squad it's about having a strong core group who are available more often than not and have the required mentality and quality.
I have heard that Adama is very fast but I doubt he's able to play both RWB & WF simultaneously
Joking aside: I see so many are desperate to get Brozovic , as if he, by some magic, straight away will become a hit at Spurs - despite of being 29 years and never played in the EPL. Besides, Inter is fighting to win Seri A and has no need to sell players now.

I think we should look more often in Bundesliga. The salary is not so high and their are many interesting players.
RWB: Frimpong -Leverkusen
CM:Zakaria - Gladbach -can play cm and CB
CF: Schick - Leverkusen
COM: Nkunku and Diaby - Leipzig and Leverkusen

Watched the BL/UB game at the weekend and Frimpong seems to have similar qualities to those that people like in Lamptey. Zippy fucker isn't he?

Another player who seems to be developing is Manu (Kouadio) Koné (CM 20yo BMG) . I saw bits of him at Toulouse as an 17/18yo (Leeds were sniffing around him in summer 2020) a couple of sloppy passes aside, he was pretty good against Bayern on Friday. Tall, rangy midfielder, gets a leg into tackles, has some press resistance, technically decent looking.

I don't have it as a "must fix" either. And I didn't even imply (never mind state) that is where we should be starting.

I will say this, I'm happy to see posters respond with a defense of Davies over an attack on Royal.

My point is he turns 23 this week....i think it's too soon to write him off

have you seen much of Hugo Ekitike? Highlights and stats look mighty impressive for just 19yo, I can't remember ever seeing him play. Newcastle linked with him today.
