Hate to bring this up (and I know it's pure 100% hindsight) but had we known earlier about today being cancelled, would it have changed Wednesdays' League Cup line-up against Chelsea???

Whilst we might still have gone out, I defo think we may have gone stronger... at least to begin with!!

It literally couldn't be made up...
then of course, there was 1919...

Woolwich Gets Promoted to the First Division: 1919

aka: LUCKY LUCKY Woolwich
  1. In 1919 Woolwich became the first-ever football club to be promoted to the First Division on a basis that was unrelated to footballing performance.
In the 1914-1915 season Woolwich finished fifth in the Second Division. Then WWI broke out, which put footballing activities on hold.
Once they resumed in 1919 Henry Norris, the chairman of Woolwich at the time, proceeded to pull off one of the most controversial stunts in English Football history.
The First Division had decided that it would expend from 20 teams to 22 teams before the start of the 1919 season. Having already promoted the top two Second Division teams, the First Division now had two open spots.
The previous season had seen Chelsea and Tottenham sit in 19th and 20th, respectively, and both clubs were due to be relegated.
Provisions were made so that Chelsea were allowed to remain in the First Division, which left one spot to be fulfilled. It is at this point that Sir Henry Norris maneuvers his club into one of the most unlikely positions of all time.
While at the Football League's Annual General Meeting, Norris argued that Woolwich deserved to be promoted because of their contribution to footballing history.
Woolwich was the first league club located in the South. His speech was enough to influence the audience. Woolwich won promotion to the First Division by 10 votes.
Despite being promoted in suspicious circumstances, Woolwich is the only club to have remained in the top division of English Football since the sport resumed after the end of the first world war.

It's tough being a Spurs fan. We should be known as 'The Football Masochists' We seem to be attracted to Football torture.

Firstly, the League obviously has No regard to fairness. We Firstly got Kicked out of a European Cup because they didn't want to postpone the Leicester game when we applied. Leicester then applies and Game gets postponed. Woolwich cry wolf and get The NLD postponed because they loaned players out and their player got a straight red. The worst thing about it is that some fans, including Ian Wright, actually believe this is a Great decision. Why even watch football? Easier just to give Woolwich three points and move on

Secondly, We have Levy, ENIC, Airfixx and Co..... Real Estate is more important than football. We half way through a transfer window, with arguably one of the best coaches in the world, yet we haven't signed one player. We are average at best but are aiming at top 4. Our biggest target (according news) is a Striker/Winger who costs a whopping 20 million and has only scored 1 goal.

Thirdly, on the park we seem to always get shafted by referees and VAR. From Son being offside by 2,5cms to loosing a Uefa Championship final because of Sissoko's hand deciding to point Dier in a direction and Mane intentionally kicking the ball onto it.

Taking Pain is the Spursy Way. If you think any different, you in the wrong place.

Annoyingly, the CL argument is skewed, seeing as we did benefit massively from VAR in the Qtrs. against Man City... pre-VAR we'd probably have been knocked out before the Semis!

On the other hand (not Sissoko's), it was as if we were so obviously going to be 'punished' for one positive VAR ruling somewhere down the line... and so it came to Pass... to Sissoko!

Some cultist keeping asking me but what do you want Spurs to doooooo about it, huh huh huh???.

No wonder we get fucked up the arse, when people are either that big fools or such pussies.

Ah hang on, a gooner just played this card in a text message…

“You lot have always lacked class, its a big NLD against your fiercest rivals who can only field a team made up mostly of reserves and U23s. Its an easy 3 points that sadly you will never get. Unlucky. Carry on crying.”

Winds me up. We have to do them in the rearranged fixture. We just have to.

Smash the cunts face in.

Sky sports super Sunday apart from Robbie the rest were a disgrace especially that twat smith. All they kept going on about was goons perfectly within their rights to ask for game to be postponed. Completely forgetting wolves yday and Leeds who have just as bad injuries are playing. They seem to ignore that morally they are corrupt in asking for gane to be suspended, completely ignore they only have one covid case and that pre covid this would never have happened. However one case appears to allow you to trigger the rule. Pathetic! What if they had no covid cases could they stlll have asked for the gane to be postponed?
