Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I can see the assessment of 'how well/badly we've done' this window will include both outgoings as well as incoming.

Here's the outgoings story :

Ndombele @ £200k pw = £10m pa and with 3.5 years left on contract £35m
Lo Celso @ £90k pw ......... £4.5m pa and with 3.5 years let on contract £16m
Dele @ £180k pw ...............,,£9m pa and with 2 years left on contract £18m
Total ..... £470k pw ............ £23.5m pa ..........................................................£69m

We could get a couple of players for free (or even a top striker such as Dusan Vlahovic) with wages saved over the rest of their contracts. And free up squad places

If all 3 midfielders left in January, given their limited playing time this season, would we be able to cover their games with just one incoming midfielder - possibly with Harvey White/Nile John/Alfie Devine getting minutes as well ?

I don't see how we've paid twice as much per week for Ndombele's services these past few years than Lo Celso's. Gio should feel hard done by...

Dele on 180k Jesus wept.

Dunno... we have to sell at least one of them surely...
I don't see Levy selling Ndombele or Lo Celso for anything less than he paid, so unless someone generous and stupid comes along then they will be loan deals, or maybe a clever swap if we are lucky. Dele more of a possibility because he only cost the club 5 million, but again the fear for Levy is that Dele goes elsewhere and magically recovers the form that made him one of the best midfielders in the country 4 or 5 years ago.

Yeah - true... Tanguy on loan to PSG seems like a potential answer. If he's happy, then maybe everyone's happy. I mean PSG are obviously struggling financially... I don't know how they can afford to even consider a loan for Tanguy, but still. ...Somebody should send them a few quid.

Dele not on that much surely? Most sources say £100k, which is still too much.

He will👍👍 if he doesnt and doesnt sell, their values will depreciate and they will continue to cost the club plus continue to paralyse our activity👍👍

The loan with an obligation to buy market makes so much sense for everyone, if a club like PSG are considering it when they could easily cough the funds up and outright pay for players then no one should be surprised when we do it, you'd be silly not to take a try before you buy option it you were given it.
