Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I dont disagree but then they appointed the wrong manager. What do they think will happen with Conte and a tight fisted approach. It again highlights the clubs lack of planning. If budgets are tight they should have gone for ten Hag or Potter and built from the ground up with good youngsters over 3 or 4 years.

Yep to this.

Of course some players and fans would have and would still talk of a lack of ambition but you ain't going to easily get away with selling fish and chips if you have acquired a top chef!

We just can't getting these decisions wrong because even we will eventually get completely caught out.

What I do think.we have is an undoubted some thing because as average as we have been in the last 2 or 3 years we are still comfortably for now in that top 8 teams.

Where next though who knows.

Paratici has been at the club for half a season and to blame him is ridiculous. If he had the money from Lewis he would have made more signings. Simple as that. It's not as if Paratici by magic can manifest a player that fits the budget of Lewis & Levy and can strengthen the Spurs team out of nowhwere.
Thus said: there is a reason why so few clubs do deals during the January transfer window. Even Conte said it is difficult; so he knows. Yes, I am sure he's not happy but I take with a huge pinch of salt all the rumors about him being ready to leave in a few weeks, etc., etc,
For example, . many Spurs fans want Spurs to sign Kessie now as if that's easy. Milan is in the title race with their bitterest rivals, Inter. Imagine the scene if a Spurs regular had been sold in a January window while Spurs were in a title race with Woolwich!
The summer, though, will be the decisive window to see whether Lewis & Levy indeed are willing to back Conte...
Getting Saha and Nelson on frees I have to admit was better, but not by a shitload

Exactly what I've said all along - this window isn't make or break. It's the summer window.
Conte has managed multiple January windows. The best player he's probably ever signed was Eriksen and he barely played the 2nd half of that season under him.
The only players easy to get at this time of year are shit ones.
To quote Conte directly, even if it’s not the best opportunity, we have to do something. To fix this in one transfer window, two transfer windows is not reality, but there must be a place to start, because the level of the squad has decreased in recent years.

Also surely Conte’s best January buy was Ashley Young.

Paratici is a useless prick who has yet to make a good signing and has missed lots of opportunities because there are leagues he doesn't seem to look at.

As much as it physically pains me to give them any credit, and while it’s obvious there are pretty significant loopholes, I think the evidence is growing that FFP has changed behavior.

Newcastle can’t do it the way Chelsea and City did without forgoing Champions League football for an indefinite period.

We’re well positioned to compete at the very top of the sport, IF we can maintain high ticket demand and make ourselves regulars in the CL, both of which are rapidly slipping away.

Oh, and of course if we fire all of the executive leadership of the club and entirely transform the way we do business and the organizational commitment to sporting integrity. That too.
FFP has never really accomplished anything, if you ask me. There's always a loophole. Newcastle will just be sponsored by (insert 1,000 Saudi companies) at higher than market value to cover the spending as required on the books. UEFA ain't gonna do anything, because they're not going to slaughter the golden goose and ban teams frkm the CL that field the biggest players.

If they excommunicated the clubs that field the Messis and Ronaldos, then they basically do the leg work of creating the ESL for the clubs. Which is why FFP has never had any teeth. The window to make it happen was the very early 2000s.

He's made 5 major signings and not a single one could you call a success so far.

Well, UEFA has the opportunity to strangle one of these projects in the cradle now, rather than combatting one that’s already too big to fail. The existing powers of the sport that run UEFA do not wish to invite a new member.

We’ll see. There will be friction, and there will be cheating, but the fact is that Chelsea and City didn’t even need for that to be a calculation when they made the jump.

I used to think he was a prize prick in his palace days, but I listen to him now and he's just sensible.
It's only fans getting hysterical. Conte isn't an idiot.

Ignore all the mouthy pricks on Sky Sports trying to create news as well.
January sucks. Might as well do away with it.
The entire "no players available" argument is utter, utter bullshit.

Once more, with feeling:
