Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It clearly is a priority for Conte; he has our squad is missing players in 3 positions: an attacker, CM, and RWB.
The fact we seem to have no option after Adama chose Barcelona is down to Paratici's incompetence.
Maybe it is a priority, it may get revisited in the Summer.

Expecting some transfer action in January is ok. Expecting every problem to be fixed is unrealistic.

Maybe we haven’t gone for another RWB option because other than Traore no one Conte likes was going to be available this month. Could be any of a few reasons really.

But it's not ideal that he has only had 13 starts for a team who are really struggling in Serie A. If he's not held down first XI spot in that team, how do we expect him to adjust well to a much harder league?
Chiesa and Locatelli haven't held down every game starting spots either, and both are pure class.

Juve have too many players, especially in midfield. That's why this deal works.

Juve have played 23 in Serie A and 6 in the CL. McKennie, Bernardeschi, Chiesa, Rabiot, Locatelli, and Betancur all have between 15 and 21 starts in those games.

So according to L'EquipeTV, when Spurs and PSG talked about N'Dumbo, it was proposed that Spurs get Ander Herrera back in the deal. And Spurs were adamant they didn't want him cause no need for his type of player.

But now they're talking to Juve about Betancur. Younger, but much more expensive. And doesn't help with shifting N'Dumbo to Paris.

Call me crazy, but given the choice between Ander and Betancur, I'm taking the Spaniard any day of the week. He's no world beater, but he always puts a shift in. He can run, pass, score, tackle...all the things Betancur can't basically

At this rate is going to more like 4 outs on loan and maybe one mediocre player in, if we are lucky.

Weakening the squad further if anything

Absolute disaster
Also a good chance loans get lined up for the likes of Ndombele, Dele, GLC, some of which then get pulled when we don't sign enough replacements. Leaving us with unwanted AND unhappy players who know they're unwanted.

Luiz is a tidy player, I quite like him. He’s similar to what we have but better than Hojbjerg. He seems to play with the shackles on at Villa. Under the right manager he can go up a level. Knows the league too of course, which is an advantage.
I just don't see the point of this signing given we're keeping Winks, Skipp, and PEH.

Also I think we need to be a bit cautious with overrating Villa players. They have good strikers in Ings and Watkins. Good wide players in Buendia and Bailey. Ramsey is an exciting midfield prospect. Good CB pairing in Mings and Konsa. Good GK in Martinez.

And now people are saying they have a good holding midfielder in Luiz too? Something isn't adding up, if they have all these great individuals, why is their team's performances so mediocre (Gerrard's honeymoon period aside).

But they have also made us into a giant across Europe
Yeah, a giant, glitzy, fireworks-DJs-and-bespoke-beers cowpat. All side-show; no substance. An actual giant's just grabbed Diaz.

Fanny around low-ball bartering in the summer window and we're fucked. It will be another window where we might grab one statement player then snap up B-stock players days before the actual season starts and Conte has had any time to work on them. And then we buckle up and move at a sensible 60mph as City and co race off into the distance yet again.

Levy's a property manager. Stevie Wonder's got more football IQ than him.

We're so close to that top 4 slot thanks to Conte that someone shrewd with a bit of guts would be willing to push the boat out and help get us one of those coveted spots.

Herrera is quoted saying he only wants to play for Man Utd in England.

After throwing a hissy fit I've come to conclusion that there is no way on earth that we are in for bentacur when we already have hojberg, skipp and dier who can all play that exact role.

Kulsevski at least makes sense in that he is a right sided attacker but we will be lucky to see him rise above his current mediocre state. If conte wants him, fine, he knows best. But do I believe that he is a first choice or a "better than nothing" transfer? I suspect the latter.

Diaz was pressumably 1st choice, but the Kulu links go back as far as November so it's def. not a late grab.

No that doesn't follow either. That he did not note the exact spelling of the players name doesn't render his opinion worthless. You get that comment, of all kind, ill- informed, sage and totally nonsensical is kind of the point of the forum. I hope he is wrong on the player and you can take great delight in pointing out his error if this is the case. I'll have a slice myself.
Conte rates him, Ronaldo rates but this fella who calls our players Wankberg. Lo Wanko etc knows better??????

The not played much isn't true at all.

He's started 5 of their 6 CL matches, and they rotate 6 guys for 4 spots in midfield and he's one of them. (Kulusevski isn't, and neither are Ramsey or Arthur)

I don't want to claim intimate knowledge of the player, but I've watched the odd Juve game to see McKennie and Betancur's always caught my eye. The two make a good duo with McKennie barreling all over the pitch and Betancur the more disciplined, technical player who can pick a pass and get them going.

He's a rich man's version of the player people once though Harry Winks could be.

Just what we need IMO..... Someone to relegate Winks back to the bench and play alongside Skipp.

I hope you are right and Conte has a clear plan for him.

On watching his highlights it seems like he likes to sit and shoot from just inside the right hand side of the penalty box which would leave space for a competent wingback to overlap and get him the ball.

If Emerson can't get him the ball in a highly advanced area I can't see kulu being much more that a squad filler.
