Yes, the way I understand the deal has been done, we'll have no choice but to cough up 35 mil for him if we qualify for the CL and he plays 15 games minimum. Then he's here for 5 years...for better or, more likely, for worse

Stop your whinging FFS... That's a load of wiggle-room....

If he plays 15 games he'll have obviously been a hit..... If we get CL on top of that then cry me a fucking river!

Sorry just saw this add on. I am not sure either adds much technical skill, although tough not to improve on what we currently have.

I hope you are right and they do improve us in those areas, just seem a bit redundant to me.
I wish we'd gone for an out-and-out striker, but with potentially only being in one competition after our next game, I can see why more optionality across the front three is a focus.

I also wish we'd try to sign a 10-ish player to provide those skills from deeper in midfield, but all of our links have been to players with similar robust tackling profiles as what we already have, and among that group I think Betancur is probably the deep-lying playmaker-iest.

I also think 3-5-2 is our best formation, but with these moves it seems like Paratici and/or Conte doesn't.

As an internet goof who plays at knowing anything about football, I'm perplexed in some ways, but as a fan who demands that the club acts like it wants to be successful, I am a step or two off the ledge.

I will be interested to see how we line up after this both formation and who is in and out. I am still hoping for a 3-5-2 and hoping Kulesevski can fit into that formation as some suggest. But I imagine we stick with the 3-4-3 unfortunately.

If we could add a deep lying player like Neves/Bissouma things would look so much better.

It's really not hard

People want us to spend the necessary amount to bring in players of real quality that tangibly improve us

One quality player for 50 mil , not two average ones for 55

Sadly that is pretty much our philosophy and the main reason as to why we have accumulated so many average players we can't shift

Top of the out list.....

Ndomele 60m
Gio 40m

But yeh only 50m+ players are good enough.... Great logic!

Neves is/was absolutely the one player that would transform us immediately

Those two were mighty fuck ups , no denying it

Doesn't mean we should never spend that kind of money on a player again

We need to better at identifying players but then we all know that
Think that’s the problem

Chelsea can afford to have a duffer at 50 mill, even 100 mill (see lukaku)

We can’t, and it’s our scouting department, ie Hitchen, who knows fuck all about a good footballer, making those decisions

Look at the top comment on the video above. Lots of people see the similarities. He has a great finesse shot when he cuts in from the right. Doherty will enjoy playing with him as he will have lots of space on the overlap. When we're chasing matches, we could even switch Moura to RWB.

I'm excited about Kulusevski, he is 3 years younger than Luis Diaz and has been battle-hardened in Seria A.

He's a bum.

And he's slow.
