Another 'Levy Masterclass'. We can all celebrate this window. We lost Traore for 5 million. We Lost Diaz for 5million and we probably gona loose Djed Spence for 3 million. Levy really has a knack of making it look like we are actually bidding, when we actually have no intention of buying.

Two signings. Both not considered the best in their previous club.

What have we learnt?

1) The more things change, the more they stay the same .
2) The Leopard will not change his spots.
3) Top 4 to us, equates to winning the League.
4) Even with Conté, we still are extremely Spursy.
We did not lose Diaz over 5 million. Liverpool had been tracking him for a while now, but had no intention of signing him this window. It's not until Spurs moved that they were forced to. Liverpool matched our offer and it was up to the player to decide where he went.

Traore had been pretty vocal about wanting to return to his former club, and wasn't sold on him being used as RWB. I don't believe the offer from Spurs is what made him pick Barca over us.

This all comes down to "it doesn't matter if we meet the club's valuation, if the players doesn't want to sign for us there is nothing we can do"

There is plenty that you can blame Levy for but Diaz and Traore aren't it. If anything it completely takes the spotlight of genuine issues such as the managerial search last year, the attempt to furlough staff, and the super league debacle.

No, we lost Traore because he wanted to go to Barca, just as he said a year or so ago he wanted to, and we lost Diaz because he wanted to go to Liverpool, presumably because they are in CL and top 2/3 in EPL each year now.

Why do so many of the anti-Levy posts have to include so many lies / so much hyperbole? If he is as terrible as you make him out to be, surely you can just list the actual bad things he does (many of which I'm sure do exist) instead of making up things that aren't valid. :/
Maybe we should ask Modric, Bale , Kane , AVB , Redkmapp, BMJ whether he is a guy to be trusted
Redknapp maybe not the best example

Levy as per usual doing the bare minimum. No doubt he will balance the books by selling Ali and he will get nobody else apart from the Juve lads. We haven’t addressed any of our weaknesses. All we have done is gotten rid of a few players and replaced. We haven’t strengthened. Getting so pissed off and fed up with this club constantly missing the boat in these windows. 4th is up for grabs, take advantage you bald bastard. I’m calling it now because I’m so certain this will happen. We will sell Ali in the last few hours for about 20 mil to Everton which will pay for the central midfielder from Juve. The Kulu fella is on loan, so theoretically we have spent nothing. Levy doing what he does best, balancing the books FC. Where is the supposed Diaz money ? Nowhere because as predicted, it was always a crock of shit
Very true. It’s what we seem to do now.
This puts it quite well. Basically it’s all about deals with levy whether we particularly need the player or not. Or whether it addresses our weaknesses or not. Then we wonder we we are an average team!

Director of Football Fabio Paratici has used his contacts at, and knowledge of, Juventus to bring in two quality players who are significantly undervalued by the market.
Great! But what does this do for our lack of cover of centre-back? How does this improve our creativity from the right flank? How will this decrease the burden of minutes of Harry Kane's ankles?
This deals-orientated approach to the market is something we became used to when Daniel Levy assumed the role - and it does have its upsides of course - but we thought it would be different now we have a real director to address the needs of the squad.

We miiiight have sealed Traore with earlier and more serious bidding, but it’s clear we were never getting Diaz

What? I never said he was a guy to be trusted, that's a completely different conversation, did you reply to the wrong post? I was simply pointing out that claims we missed out on Traore and Diaz because Levy wouldn't pay another £5m for each is just a complete and utter lie that contravenes every report available to us of those two transfers.

It may be just me that remembers this but; less than a week ago, when we were linked to Amrabat and Villa were considered a lock for Bentancur there were cries of "why aren't we linked to players like this!?!?!".

......FFWD to now; we pipped them to the player and now he's considered a bum.

Classic interweb.
When we were linked to Amrabat, I asked who people would rather we sign in CM for a reasonable fee. I had Guimaraes and Bentancur given as the examples.

Hmmmm
