Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

KWP have played 17 out of his 24 games played this season at left back. 4 games at right back and 2 at right midfield according to transfermarkt.

Livramento have played 22 out of 24 games at right back, and 2 in right midfield.

Livramento have definitely dislodged KWP from his starting spot in the right of the backline at Southampton.

In the league he has with livramento on the right , got motm while on the left.
Yes, b/c Perraud (So'ton's 1st choice LB) tested positive for COVID before Everton, so KWP went to LB and Livramento started RB in the past 2 PL matches (home matches vs Norwich + Everton.)

The previous matches (against Spurs, ManUtd and ManCity) was KWP (RB) and Perraud (LB).

Livramento missed those games because of a knee issue.

Livramento is their first choice RB. You can see his and KWP's numbers of games played at each position a few posts above.

Excuse Me Reaction GIF by One Chicago

The guy is behind KWP in So'ton's pecking order.
Is he not. KWP Is now playing LB due to him. He was out with an injury but is now back (but, yes, he's apparently had a dip in form before his injury).

In my opinion:

Hugo
Romero - Dier - LCB
RWB
- Bentancur - CM - LWB
Kulu - Kane - Son

LCB and RWB are the absolute priorities for me. But I also think we need to give Skippy time, I feel there's too much pressure on the young lad. And his duo with Bentancur isn't creative enough, so for me he's no automatic starter. At LWB, if Reggy stays, then fine...but I'd still prefer an upgrade. Same applies with Eric.

So 2 new starters for sure and a potential 3 others wouldn't be a terrible idea...but I really doubt we'll get 5 new starters.

The bench is where a lot of work is required too, both ins and outs

3 new starters is enough to get us competitive for the 4th spot, if we want to compete with Liverpool/City/Chelsea then we need at minimum 5 new starters maybe more.

Only guys that are at that level for me are Lloris, Romero, Bentancur/Skipp (only one of them can start), Kane, Son maybe Reguilon.

Dier, Kulu cannot be starters if we want to compete with the top teams they are not close to good enough. Dier likely a big detriment to us getting top 4 especially if United get a quality manager that can sort that mess of a mix of players out.

Igula Igula Our squad is so far off being competitive, this is the sort of radical changes we would need to even be competitive. Not going to happen though.

I agree that is the kind of upgrades we need, I would obviously also replace Dier, but no way that we will see it happen with Levy in charge.

I know it's DM but at least I agree with them that Gvardiol should be Spurs' no. 1 LCB target.
As for Spence, I reckon the jury is still out - mainly because of apparent personality issues I hope the scouts do a much better background check than they did on Ndombele). Besides, I don't want a Wan Bissaka situation and spend a small fortune on a 1 season wonder. Plus, I still have a very faint hope that Spurs can land Livramento.

I doubt that McNeil is any better than what Spurs already have at LWB. I brought up the topic - i.e. playing McNeil as LWB - a few weeks ago and the common consensus was that he's no better than what Spurs already have and he's hardly even played in that position, so it would be a risk not worthy taking for the price he'd cost

I think he'd be more creative than either Reguilon or Sessegnon. Perhaps slightly worse defensively, but he's played under Dyche for years so will be hard working.

It's a huge risk selling to proven LWB and bringing in an untested LWB. When put on the LWB for England u-21 he played poorly ('Criminal', 'Baffling' - England U21 fans perplexed by what Aidy Boothroyd asked of Dwight McNeil vs Switzerland). And to me it's not enough just to be hard working.
Problem is that there are few quality LBs available at a "Levy price".

Backing Kane up with the guy who should be the backup for Son is certainly a choice.

Gouiri should play on the left off of a proper striker. Not centrally.

Also, can we stop creaming for Bissouma whilst he is under investigation for assault please?

Yeah, it may not work.
But Conte has shown pedigree at converting wingers to WBs.

Also is there any evidence McNeil actually played poorly at LWB? That article had tweets complaining that he should have played LW. If you look at the match result, it was 0-0 and then Switzerland scored the winner after McNeil went off.
