Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Schlotterbeck and Hakimi would be the two players I'd sign in a dream transfer window. Think I first watched Schlotterbeck last summer for the German u21's and mentioned him on here at the time, and he's gone from strength to strength ever since. Looks an absolutely superb player. Assume he's Bayern bound to be honest.
Agree with all of this. What did you think of Ridle Baku? For me he was Germany’s standout player in that tournament

Sorry, but Llorente was shite. Apart from the occasional, and at times important, bundling of the ball over the line in a messy six yard box scenario, he gave us fuck all.

Kane is so versatile that a quality striker can be accommodated with Kane - as a rotation option but also as a system change option where Kane drops deeper.
You wot mate?

Llorente gave us a Champions League final as far as I'm concerned

I liked him at the tournament.. and that Dorsch guy in midfield. Watched Baku a few times this season as I figure he'll be one of a few on our radar for RWB. I've only seen him play RW this season though, and wasn't super impressed.. but he is an interesting player, and Wolfsburg are poor this year.

Who is a gettable striker that displaces our front 3?

I don’t have a clue. But someone who is either at a Llorente point where they’re happy to accept a squad role, or an up and comer happy to learn from Kane.

Don’t see Depay being content as a squad player. If I’m wrong then it’s a good move, but the only real reason I see him going from Barca to Spurs is to play more.

A little off topic maybe (or maybe not?)
Supposedly, Barca have reached a personal agreement on a five year deal with Raphina although he’s contracted at Leeds through 2024.
If they can reach agreement on a transfer price, this will leave Traore well and truly ****ed. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

I think we need to move beyond the bit part players like Llorente and Vinicius.

If we sign another attacker they need to be on the Kulusevski level and have a genuine chance of getting a run in the first team. That's how we move to the next level.

At the moment we have no one who can come in and be relied upon to play at the same level as our front 3. That's why Conte doesn't rotate. Lucas and Bergjwin are not the answer.

Signing another player of that ilk wouldn't move us forward.

Not saying Depay is the answer but at least someone with that kind of pedigree would be useful.

Not sure what he did to make you so angry?

That's the thing a lot of people seem to forget when saying "they won't want to sit on the bench" about talented transfer targets. Yeah but what about when someone gets injured for a long stretch or their form falls off a cliff. Having shitty "squad" players as an alternative is how you get fucked.

If we had a legitimately quality alternative, Son may have actually seen some bench time recently.

It's how a team should be built. Have quality beyond the first XI.

People love mentioning that our squad got stale due to lack of transfers. But you don't wait for the good players to go off the boil before making those transfers. You pick up hungry talent before that point. The challenge either invigorates the incumbent or your bet is proven to be a smart one when they don't get back to their best.

In fairness to Depay he is a much better and maturer player now than when he was at United. Great ball control, decently hard worker. Scored a ton for Lyon and is currently Barca's top goal scorer. Has converted more to a striker in recent years so could deputise for either Kane or Son.

He's also a good free kick taker so we could finally stop paying the Kane tax.

He's also on a low salary contract at Barcelona so we don't have to match some ridiculous wages, and his contract runs until 2023 so its not a long contract to buy out either.

Jorge is looking for a payday. Granted, if Kane is looking to leave again it is good that there is some form of contingency being planned. He does owe us after Nuno and Gedson.

I don’t really see the options for Kane this summer. City opportunity has gone and they will sign someone younger this summer. Chelsea out of the question. United can afford him but they are no more likely to win a trophy than we are. I suppose Liverpool might make a cheeky bid?

He won’t leave the PL because of all the records he wants to break so I think he should think carefully if it’s a choice between joining United or staying here with Conte.
