I would put replacing Sanchez and Winks ahead of Davies and Hojbjerg all day long.Agree with this. In the current 11 its the wing backs, Davies and i'd add Hojbjerg that are easiest to upgrade. Then some of the squad, Sanchez, Winks, Moura. Some have done ok but that group are probably less technically gifted than other members of the squad.
PEH didn’t play well yesterday - he needs to be fourth choice behind Skipp, Benta and a new signjngEven with the team getting towards firing on all cylinders, good wins by big margins etc, still fairly obvious where the upgrades are needed.
People like Emerson, Doherty/Reguilon on the left, and I'd lump in Davies as well, might be doing alright in recent weeks and Conte is getting something out of them in terms of productivity and half decent performances. But if you just watch the 90 minutes and general passages of play their abilities on the ball and all-round technique and what they bring to the table then they are the most limited. That doesn't mean everything they do is useless, that they don't have positive moments, that they haven't contributed.... but still, these are the areas we can and should look to be improving.

Of course but those two clowns aren’t currently starting games. Upgrading Davies and Hoj pushes Winks and Sanchez closer to the transfer listI would put replacing Sanchez and Winks ahead of Davies and Hojbjerg all day long.
The latter two may not be superstars, but they're still way, way, way ahead of Sanchez and Winks in my book.
I’d keep Davies
Im not a huge fan but he can cover the left CB / LB in a 4 and LWB
We need to stay away from players like Maddison, players like him are far too expensive because they are English and playing for PL clubs. If we are going to sign someone like him we should be signing them before they explode, not after. We should be looking at the best young players in the Championship (like Maddison, Bowen, Grealish etc were) and signing them for £20m not waiting until they take the PL by storm and then paying £60m for them.
We could get Lewis-Potter from Hull, Djed Spence from Boro and Madueke from PSV altogether for the same price we'd have to pay for Maddison/Lamptey etc.
That's some strange logic. Any transfer activity that prolongs the stay of Winks and/or Sanchez is bad transfer activity. Just fucking sell them; there's no need for this three-dimensional chess approach.Of course but those two clowns aren’t currently starting games. Yeah we are aligned on thatThat's some strange logic. Any transfer activity that prolongs the stay of Winks and/or Sanchez is bad transfer activity. Just fucking sell them; there's no need for this three-dimensional chess approach.
That's more to do with the nature of the position; they're both flakey....
He's not nearly as revered as he was a couple of years ago.... With good reason.
Dunno about you, I want guys that would bleed for the shirt.
Prick of a bloke but guarantees goals and assists. He doesn't have the work ethic Conte demands though and would often look like a right lazy cunt in our team. I'd prefer Tielemans myself.
He was absolutely mint last season. This is his first period in English football where he hasn't looked absolute quality pretty much every week.
Doesn't make sense.I would put replacing Sanchez and Winks ahead of Davies and Hojbjerg all day long.

I think in terms of priority, two quality WBs and a super elite CM are our biggest needs.Even with the team getting towards firing on all cylinders, good wins by big margins etc, still fairly obvious where the upgrades are needed.

What doesn't make sense?Doesn't make sense.
Romero is the main starter. Sanchez is the backup. Not terrible as far as backups go.
Hojbjerg is the winks upgrade as far as I'm concerned. We don't need a Winks upgrade, we need a Hojbjerg upgrade. Same applies to Davies.
I agree. I wouldnt sell Davies, he's useful to have around. Just needs replacing in the team imo. The first 3 on the way should be Sanchez, Winks and Emerson.I would put replacing Sanchez and Winks ahead of Davies and Hojbjerg all day long.
The latter two may not be superstars, but they're still way, way, way ahead of Sanchez and Winks in my book.
Upgrading Winks really means upgrading PEH to me. In my mind if we sell Winks, and by a new CM who can't relegate PEH to the bench that's a failed transfer, that's what I mean by we need not upgrade PEH not Winks. What doesn't make sense?
Sanchez is a complete liability. Our starting centerback trio right now is Davies-Dier-Romero, and Davies is the weakest link in that chain. Sanchez doesn't have a place anywhere near our starting lineup, so sell him and replace him with a left-sided centerback that can possibly displace Davies and improve our depth. Kill two birds with one stone. Holding on to Sanchez makes absolutely zero sense given his performances and lack of growth.
Same thing with Winks. He's a passenger in midfield. He's a liability even as injury cover. Replace him with someone who can push Hojbjerg, and again you're improving our depth and possibly killing two birds with one stone.
If this doesn't make sense to you then you're a simpleton.
