Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

So Spurs - according to the press - are looking to buy 2 WB for next season, Adama Traore & Jack Harrison, and yet no one seems to know whether they want to play WBs or not 😁
Imagine if Spurs had bought both Traore & Harrison as WBs only to find out that neither of them want to play WB 😁

Robinson, who regularly features as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that whilst Harrison could perform as a wing-back for Antonio Conte at Tottenham, the 25-year-old would be better off remaining at Elland Road.

Speaking with Football Insider, the ex-Spurs goalkeeper claimed: “He is capable of playing that role, 100 per cent.

“The question is, would he want to? I’m sure he sees himself more as a goalscoring winger or midfielder.

“When you look at him, you ask the question – is he of the level required for Spurs? They want to push on and compete with the top four. Would Jack fit into that?

“Would he play week in, week out? I don’t think so. He is better off where he is if you ask me. He is building his career at Leeds and is playing every week. I question whether he would be a starter at Spurs.”

Do you think what position they are expected to play wouldn’t come up in contract negotiations?

There are only a few signings we need to make to compete next season

-Raul Jimenez to either back up or play alongside Kane (30 million)
-James Maddison as the bona fide AM (50 million)
-1 world class wingback (40+ million)
-1 quality CB that can compete with Romero and Dier (40+ million)

That a little over 150 million for us to compete for a title.

Anything else is gravy.

Conte does not use a CAM in his system, so Maddison would not be a good fit for Spurs.
And I would rather have a quality LCB as an upgrade on Davies (although I believe that Davies has been very solid as LCB)

Having a player like Maddison that can help break down the low block is critical in my view. It's one glaring weakness we have. If we can't get in behind, most games, we're going to struggle.

This is what we have Kane dropping deep for, and I think is evidenced by the number of chances our wingbacks, and not just our wingers, have been getting lately. I'd much rather have a defensively stout and smart-in-possession CM 2 , than be soft but have "a bit more creativity". If we get Eriksen on a free we have that creative CM (CAM) to break down bus parkers with. Against the best teams though, our best side will feature Kane dropping deep and creating in front of a strong CM 2. We need to focus our money on strengthening that team, not the "breaking down bus-parkers" team.

If that's true (and it wouldn't be surprising), I hope it doesn't dent his performances between now and the end of the season when we'll need him to step up in Doherty's absence.

Fingers crossed he'll play well to either prove a point or put himself in the shop window to move to a good club.
The guy seems like a good pro and a decent bloke (unlike who he replaced).
Judging by his interviews he has enjoyed his stay here but the EPL is not for him. Atletico is calling.
I'm reasonably confident that he can be OK for us in the run in.
Not really the time to be experimenting.

The ol’ ‘I’ll support any player in the Lilywhites shirt’ trope will be severely tested should we purchase this prick
I'd like to think there'd be a polite silence during the team lineup announcement when he's called out.

It's irritating when a player is a gooner fan at heart (see Doherty and the funny way the club dealt with that) but when they seem like a decent person it's forgiven soon enough. Maddison just seems like a massive cunt.

Couldn’t agree more. Something distasteful about the runt

I don’t think it happens. Hopefully he goes goons

I don’t disagree with any of that but to me, strengthening the team means adding depth and weapons that we don’t have. Other than Kane, we don’t have an AM that can dictate play. If Kane is out or unfit to play or teams start to figure us out, we need another player that can control the midfield. We need options to really compete.

Btw, aren’t we linked with Maddison?

I am still not convinced about Spence, so maybe he wasn't worth the £15m Boro wanted for him, but he's worth at least £20m now. I doubt Levy dare to "miss out" on Conte's targets this summer like he's done with past managers.
PS! WIth missing out I mean not offering a "decent" fee for the concerning player, as I don't blame Levy for the missed deals on Traore and Diaz. Besides, Kulu and Bentancur redeemed Levy 😎

Tottenham face transfer battle for Djed Spence with European giants watching Boro starlet

EXCLUSIVE: Djed Spence is becoming one of the most highly sought-after young prospects in Europe and could be on the move in the summer.

Middlesbrough ace Djed Spence is being tracked by up to 14 clubs ahead of what is set to be an almighty scramble for his signature in the summer. The 21-year-old wing-back has spent this season on loan at Nottingham Forest, where he has impressed with a string of eye-catching performances in the Championship and FA Cup.

t was widely reported that Boro rejected two late bids from Tottenham in the January transfer window for Spence, with the Teesiders holding out for a fee of at least £15m.

And Spurs may be left to rue their inability to get the deal over the line given the amount of competition they now face.
