    Get involved!

Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He obviously lost his way for a while before his transfer, but he eventually found his footing at Inter. Doing well at Brentford now.

Again, from the perspective of a bargain deal for a potentially world class player, it's hard to beat.

I can't forgive him for how bad he was. It was utterly infuriating watching him and a lot of our worst performances were due to him.
Glad he's back on his feet, but I'd rather not take him back. I suspect he's not really needed anymore

Contes sheer presence and energy counts for a lot, especially with our players who constantly need a rocket up their arses to get motivated.

if Conte is not involved at the weekend it will be hugely negative, especially against Brighton after their good result last week. It's a very crucial time and we can't afford any slip ups.
He's expected to be back in time for the game so even if it is a factor it shouldn't be an issue then.

I think this is so overrated. Eriksen had his ups and downs like anyone. His end was under Mourinho who had absolutely no attacking system. Even under Mourinho he was frequently the only midfielder who would create anything. At his worst he put in more effort than alot of players. He ran more than anyone for 5 years. He wasn't at his best towards the end, which is to be expected, but this idea that he was so terrible is BS.

Can't agree. He was woeful even long before the CL Final. His performances dropped off massively and was certainly part of the reasons why Pochettino lost his job.

I am (and indeed was at the time) happy to conclude it was psychological rather than a conscious lack of effort.

He's been documented as a player that suffers dips when contractual (and other) issues are looming.

His end was before the champions league final. His performances were dipping and he was jogging round the pitch doing little more than clock up miles in many games.
He was poor on and off for around the last year of his career at Spurs, encompassing Poch and Mourinho.
I have no problems with players who want to leave and will wish them well. But he lost himself suiters by being pretty pathetic at times.

You can see how conte transitions from defence to attack is different to Mourinho and Poch from the style of rondos he does in training. It's "passing from the back" that ends with a "counter attack". Mourinho was just pure lighting fast 70 yard peach from Kane to Son long balls, Conte is more intricate.

In most training videos I've seen teams just do one touch/two touch rondos of various intensity levels. Conte drills rondos with specific final long ball over the top as the goal. So he sets up two seperate rondo groups next to each other. Start like a traditional rondo, but after a certain number of short passes (let's say 12) one player must launch a ball over the top to the other rondo group. The group that does that first wins.

The final goal against man city was a perfect execution of that plan. We passed the ball around, drawing the opposition in and then Bentancur sent in that ball over the top to Kulusevski, who was completely free on the wing.

The rate at which we've been able to get in behind, with a significant amount of free space is really impressive.

The problem is that our player struggle terribly in the build up if pressed, and the final ball is often not as accurate as it should be. IMO, Eriksen would be perfect for that role as the final outball player.
No the perfect player for that is Savic! Thank you very much Daniel make it happen.

I personally focus on the 6 seasons where he was amongst our best players throughout, and arguably our consistently highest performing player and hardest to replace, than 6 months where he struggled to perform but still never mouthed off and never refused to train or play.
