Surely there will be two big money players coming in. 50 m or more. One should be a CB but what about the other? Wouldn't De Jong be a great addition and fit? If Barca want to sell him and he wants UCL then could there be a chance of signing him over Man u even with Ten Hag there?

I'd still prefer Bissouma & Eriksen for significantly less combined fee and wages.

I take your point but imho, they are simply too ordinary. Our bench needs to be as strong as other competitive top class teams. These guys are simply stop gaps. We can do better.
I think everyone is getting well carried away trying to swap out literally half our squad with these in/out lists. That's a disaster waiting to happen.

Happy to keep most what you've listed in the squad and add in some top quality. At the end of the day, those players were good enough to be the 4th best team in the most competitive league on the planet. I'd say they're good enough for anyone's squad.

Bale‘s goals to minutes ratio for us was excellent. He would never be a starter but unlocking bus parking teams or chasing a game he could be useful. Doubt Conte wants him so it’s all a bit irrelevant

Current RWB discussion aside (which looks like it's a matter of the options being pretty slim).... Assuming we get a new starter at LCB & CM; once you factor in the 'trickle-down' to the bench, the only area it needs boosting is some form of reliable goal threat.

I think the list of incoming transfers isn't that big.

LWB - Perisic
RWB - Spece?
LCB - Bastoni?
We'll still have Sess, Doc, Davies still here should they fail to adapt quickly.

The only other MUST HAVE position is a CM like Bissouma.

We can keep Berg/Lucas as depth in attack. PEH, Skipp and Benta will also remain. So not really a huge change.

The outs are mostly the likes of Winks, Lo Ceslo, Rodon, who never get game time anyway.

I dont know why a forward isnt on peoples list be it a wing forward type or a centre forward. We got lucky with Kanes fitness last season but lest we forget thinking we might have to pick a 17 yr old Troy Parrott or being desperate in January for literally anyone. We've got champions league and a world cup, even if Kane stays fit we need someone else to rotate and they need to be better than Vinicius/Janssen or even Llorente.

I suspect it's essential business first..... If said ST2 arrives late for pre-season it's a minor inconvenience; whereas it'll be a big deal to get all the assumed starters signed early.

...Aside from freebies like Peresic & Forster; I don't expect much noise until after this batch of internationals is over. Even with Eriksen, his head will be elsewhere this next couple of weeks.

....On which subject; how emotional - on a personal & psychological level - is that return for Denmark gonna be for him????? .....WOW!

Tbf we’ve been linked with Jonathan David, Sterling, Memphis, laurtaro Martinez, bale, Nunez etc

Despite the excess fan-thirst for binning players off; we'll simply trim the fat at our own convenience once the important incoming deals have been struck. That's the big difference of having that 150m in reserve... No "sell to buy" dynamic.

In the end, it's Antonio's call and I trust him a lot more than I do my myself. If he wants them, I'm happy....
