Romero was our best defender. Davies didn't even come close.
Btw, anyone thinking Davies is anyway on the same level as Romero should stop having opinions about football.

Davies has had a wonderful season but there is nothing he can do that Romero can't do better.

He’s not, but last season if Romero was 8/10, Davies was 7/10.

Occasionally was the best defender as well. Not a gulf in class
There were maybe 3 games where Romero was slightly worse than Davies (except that disasterclass in the conference league).

Again, credit to Davies for a fantastic end of the season, but Romero is just a different class. He's supremely comfortable playing under pressure, and absolutely domnates his part of the pitch, regularly covering for both Dier and Emerson. He unlike Davies and Dier, faces the attack head on snuffs it out before it develops.

Davies' last ditch tackles towards the end of the season were great but nothing Romero hasn't done better earlier in the season.

Is the Gordon talk is true, I'm very glad we got Richarlison over the line before accelerating it.

I don't think my heart could have taken some combo deal where we'd see Chelsea trying to gazump it and/or Kenwright pulling negotiations out of anger a mile off.
:contefacepalm:

Wonder who else we will bring in by this time next week really hope we hear positive news on Bremner he would be a fantastic addition to our back line.
You get the feeling that Paratici has narrowed his lists and a couple of the deals are dependent on one another:

>If we're actually going for Gordon and would play him as a RWB, it could be seen as a choice between him and Spence (with the latter seeming to stall over price).
>That appears to have a subsequent impact upon a choice of creative midfielder: free rein if a home grown RWB comes in, but needing to be a homegrown CAM if a foreign alternative for RWB is purchased.
>Lenglet loan for LCB looks to be imminent (itself probably due to Bastoni being impossible this summer).
>IF that happens, the big money will be spent on a central CB, possibly Bremer.

So my guess is that those CAM-RWB and LCB-CB moves are interconnected and happen quickly once one is picked.

Gordon is a fantastic prospect. One of the best in the country in my opinion I read somewhere that he is considered the best talent out of the Everton academy since Rooney. I’m not saying he’ll be as good as Rooney but he has a high ceiling for his potential. I have been very impressed every time I’ve watched him when you consider his age and PL experience. He caused us many problems when Everton played us at home.

He’s very agile with fantastic movement and dribbling skills. I think in our team he could add a lot in the next few years and would give us a great group of young players coming through with Skipp, Sarr, Sess, Divine and Scarlett. I really do hope we get him

We won't get him. No chance he'll leave Everton at this stage of his career, if ever.

Is Gordon that good ?
He's not a great goal scorer, but otherwise very good. Great tackler, dribbler, workrate, and some fairly decent link up play too.

If he can keep progressing, he's gonna be a top talent. Much better than the likes of Hudson Odoi, who was all flash and no grit.

Good to hear. We also need to be careful regarding our homegrown numbers.

Winks does need to go out the door but we'll miss his HG and club grown status when it comes to quotas. We're fortunate that Conte seems to like Sessegnon, but we should hoover up young English talent where we can this summer.

What is this, cryptic? 4 eyes? Someone who wears glasses is involved? That narrows it down.

Questions to an ITK???

We've been there before. This is an important rule. It isn't allowed. Don't ask questions because they say what they say and that's it. Everything gets over analysed and all it achieves is confusion and the asking of further questions.

ITK Bashing will result in loss of access to this part of the site. Please do not question ITK's, they say what they say, sometimes some clarity is left out for a good reason. Abuse/Bash ITK and you're out on your ear and you will not be allowed back in.
