Now instead of the 10 mil if Levy could somehow convince them about "side-pass pirlo" for a 30 mil valuation. Then spurs end up getting Gordon +20 mil!
You seem to have forgotten how this "foreign guy with the exotic sound name" was treated in the first months of his career at Spurs - not very nice. Some had already written him off as a flop because he rarely played either due to injuries or due to international games for Argentina. He was, for example, accused of putting Argentina first, being too injury prone (but always fit when it came to Argentina) and not suited for the EPL ...and thus being an expensive flop. And true, he did not play that well in the beginning of his career at Spurs but he wasn't given much time (by a few Spurs fans) to adjust to life in the EPL either.
Another "foreign guy with the exotic sound name" who was the man behind buying him, Paratici, was called all kinds of nasty names and many wanted him out the door partly due to this purchase. Both, so far, are now "heroes".
Thus said, I always stood up for Davies (and Dier) in the past, and Davies had a stellar season as a LCB and, of course, deserves a lot of credit for that. And any LCB that Spurs signs will have the fight to replace Davies.
However, Romero has been labeled world-class by several after last season - Davies never has. And this is not just because of him being a "boring looking guy."
Yes, there have also been games when Davies has performed even "better" than Romero but IMO opinion there is a fair gap (I cannot quantify it exactly) between Romero and Davies but that does not make Davies any less of a player.

Goalkeeper Kortsmit was snapped up by NAC Breda on a free transfer two years ago, after he had suffered a bad shoulder injury.
His role at the Dutch side has been to provide cover, but following the departure of Nick Olij, he is being pushed up to the club’s number 1 next season.
Kortsmit admits the last two years have been difficult and revealed that he could stand being the backup goalkeeper at Tottenham, but not at NAC Breda.
"Being a second goalkeeper is not really fun, unless it is at Tottenham on a million, then it’s a little better maybe”, he told BN DeStem.

There's been talk about Spurs creating a "South American" wall/fortress by adding Bremer & Hincapié to Romero in a back-3 (and keeping Sanchez as back-up). Well, the problem with this is that as soon as international duties (particularly Copa America) come up this "wall" will vanish into thin air by flying off (to Sur America)

Copa America is in the summer. International duty is the same window for all associations. Agree but an 18 hour flight (x2) with a 10 hour time difference and week of jet lag is still a major consideration

It's not like the only continental competition is the South American one. It's the same with the Euros. And both take place every 4 years, just in a different year. It's a 12-14 hour flight and the time difference is 3-5 hours depending on the time of year.
