Austin is club trained (although I think we could technically leave him out of the 25 man squad altogether and he would be called up to the squad as an emergency keeper if Lloris and Forster were injured, assuming the emergency keeper rule still exists).
That's a good point.

Who can be on List A?
A maximum of 25 players, two of whom must be goalkeepers. There are a minimum of eight places reserved exclusively for 'locally trained players'. If a club have fewer than eight locally trained players in their squad, then the maximum number of players on List A is reduced accordingly.

If we don't sign anyone which I think will be the case it might be an opportunity lost.
Early days but already the league looks wide open and much like when the club couldn't won the league the year Leicester won it.
It would be so spurs if city go on and win the CL with Liverpool struggling this season, only for Woolwich or Newcastle to come through and win it.

I'm gonna make a bold statement and it's gonna annoy the fuck out of people.

If we did a last minute ditch move for Traore, I think fans will warm to him quite quickly.
By fans, I mean those of you who actually watch 90 minutes of football and not check stats and final scores.
You’re right to a certain degree, in that if he did sign I think he’d reel fans in early doors by burning past a few players, showing off some of his strength, and some may think “wow we’ve a serious player here!”

However, before long when the new signing bounce wears off and fans realise he’s just a jacked version of Lucas Moura, fans will get sick of him damn quick and he’ll just be another piece of deadwood we’ll be trying to shift next summer.

Little over two days to go. Our urgent incomings and outgoings are done (right?). Now we'll just see if we can add a cherry to the top. I would guess something will still happen.

I'm not to sure, better to announce Romero Thursday evening though if that was it. Conte and Pat might be done but i feel this is Levy time now
The Romero video was made three weeks ago and they release it today. I feel we are done. This transfer window at the moment is a 5/10 that could turn into 7/10 if Spence and Lenglet have an impact on the season. The fact is we have not addressed our major weakness at Center back and are still going to be relying on Dier and Davies way too much especially since neither has brilliant distribution.

The fact is if I was Conte I would be very unhappy with the club because we have done the bare minimum to back him. We were promised more at the start of the summer with the 150m investment, we did not get what we were promised.

Gattuso said (via TMW):

“For Bryan it’s done, Tottenham told us that 90-99% it is closed. two or three days, Spurs told us that before they let him go they must take a substitute. We are waiting for Tottenham to acquire a player in that role.”

The Moura comparison is fair. I think they both cause chaos. The difference I feel is that Moura actively looks for crowds of defenders to "win" fouls. Traore takes 2 or 3 defenders with him and actually has to get fouled to stop him.
I don't care if he doesn't get a single goal or assist all season if he takes the ball from our 3rd in to the final 3rd and the team keeps possession.

How do you know it was made 3 weeks ago?

If rumors are true and Atleti would expect 60 mil for Carrasco then - and I repeat myself - we'd be better off signing no one than doing panic buy, overpay and take long-term commitment for player that will have little or no value.

60 mil for Carrasco would be worse overpaying than Isak and even Anthony, given that he is soon 29 and his output is really limited...

This is bollocks. He takes the ball the length of the pitch. Half the time it ends up with a totally innept team mate. Wolves have been a very low scoring team for years and that's not on Traore. Fuck stats, he passes the eye test.
How many times against Chelsea, Wolves and even Forest did we get the ball in our own 3rd, get shut down and dispossessed immediately?
He can combat that. He can keep the ball and take it into their 3rd. We don't need him to put in Beckham style 45 yard crosses onto a tuppance. He just needs to release the ball to a team mate.
He doesn't pass the eye test. He's warming the fucking bench for Wolves.

The infatuation with this rugby player is completely bizarre.

I’ve been a bit meh about Traore and not exactly excited about him ever since he was first linked to come in as a wing back, but if Spence comes in to the team I’d take Spence & Traore as the two RWB options over Emerson and Doherty all day long.
