I haven’t said anything really personal or any signs of anger. It looked like you were from your posts. But it’s good that you are happy & all ok! I know it’s a forum. You can spend all week defending enic if you so wish. I just don’t think there worth all that time & effort to defend. But if you do, that’s your call.
Anyway, I think we are done with our debate! Night
i'm annoyed with our performance as I'm sure you are as we're both fans. you and JT etc have every right to your view, as do I to mine. I agree there's no need to get personal if you feel I've done that I apologise.

I've got nothing against strangers on the internet with differing views. end of the day we're all Tottenham.

Maybe that’s because Kroenke’s ownership stretches back…… well, into the past. It’s not as if his ownership started this season or last.

I’m not even remotely surprised that you dismiss Kroenke taking them backwards for a decade.

The question was who would you swap ENIC for. As in now. Right this second.

I think Kroenke & co have learned from their mistakes and are headed down the correct path right now, so I'd take them. I don't get how that's hard to work out. If the question is who do I think have been better owners over the last decade, then ENIC take it. But that's a different question entirely.

Maybe it’s possible to like someone personally but not enjoy working with them/see a future?
Good point. They always tell us the manager is getting on well with levy until it all falls apart & we find it they weren’t. Poch liked working with levy we were told by them. Why would poch lie! Because maybe the manager wants to keep the peace & his job.
It’s very naive to think people don’t lie & pretend they like their boss.
Personally I think Conte is ok with levy, not happy or sad. But wants more player investment & feels a bit short with the squad at his disposal. But he getting a good wage at a big club so no need to kick off at the moment. Just a guess!
But be very interesting going forward. You could easily See him going in the summer or levy firing him if we go on a bad run. All very uncertain at the moment.

im sure our grandchildren will celebrate the glory

another 5 yr lads we are getting there

ad infinitum

We've wasted time. Post-Pochettino we could've gone for a proper rebuild & right now we'd be reaping the benefits of that, but instead we went for a plaster fix in Jose, then a really crappy plaster fix in Nuno & finally a much better plaster fix who actually knows what he's doing ... but it's still a fucking plaster.

Conte's a really good coach, his footballs just not entertaining. It can be very functional but he requires the right pieces on the board which we can't offer. We failed to upgrade wing backs (the most important element to a Conte side) or CB at all in the summer. All we got was Lenglet, who is no better a footballer than Davies.

His Chelsea team had unremarkable wingbacks but ones who fit what he needed & then a core of Courtois, Luiz, Azpilicueta, Costa, Hazard, Matic & Kante. Unless we're gonna give him this kind of core then what are we doing? Just wasting time & boring ourselves to death in the meantime..

Anecdotal, sure. I left a dream job last year because the boss & I realised it wasn’t going to work out with my strategy (because I wanted a big budget) & they had some financial issues.

I really liked him. It was an amicable split, we stayed in touch & now are working together on something else.

It’s a weird one. Conte would’ve been clear about expectations from the start. Hope Daniel didn’t spin any yarns, Conte is no fool.

An interesting development tonight is that even their staunchest supporters like Shadydan Shadydan have at least started to concede that 1 league Cup in 22 years is abysmal.

Progress, of sorts, I suppose

It would be interesting to know though at what point abysmal becomes unacceptable ?

:sonhmm:

When hasn't that ever been my stance?

No, your good! You didn’t get overly personal. With us all moaning about enic/levy I just saw signs of it getting you down & maybe a bit grumpy! So I was just saying it isn’t worth it.

Yeah a bad day for us all but at least Woolwich dropped points I guess.
For what it’s worth I do think enic/levy have done a lot of good with the infrastructure & the business side. & yes they could be a lot worse & there are worse owners out there etc. But equally I feel they have taken us as far as they can for whatever reason. We hit a buffer with them & it feels stale. Hence why I want them gone & to get new owners in. I feel we have a lot of potential going to waste & lots of ways new owners can improve on enic/levy poor running on the football side of things.

But we are still in the CL & a victory midweek takes us to the knock out stages which is a decent achievement in it self. So I’ll try & forget today!

Very Mature way you both handled it. As always, I wish we knew what was agreed on budget etc or was it a play it by ear type deal or specific positions. & what they plan for January? Has conte not got what he wanted or has he overrated what he has, so keeps asking for more when reality sinks in.

Good that you’ll overlook a full decade of neglect and mismanagement in determining who’s best right now. I tend to use historical performance as a bellwether for current decisions. Each to his own.

I’ve no doubt that had ENIC’s management over the same period been on a par with Stan, we’d be gloating about our performance to QPR or West Brom today.

Thanks! Maybe it’s a bit of that, maybe also Conte is finding it hard to adapt to the fixture frequency with his intense methodology.

We look tired & lacklustre.

Kroenke's have been doing pretty good since they've gotten full ownership imo, they found their man in Arteta and stuck by him through thick and thin and are reaping the rewards of it.

Poch's team from 15-17 was good enough.

we just didn't get over the line. the squad we had over those 2 seasons was absolutely good enough.
Nonsense. Our squad was absolutely paper thin even during our best years under Poch.

We had a fine first 11 made up of players playing at the absolute peak of their powers through outstanding coaching and maximising their output ten fold.
Once you went beyond the first 11 though, you had your Kevin Wimmers, Moussa Sissoko’s, Nkoudous, Jannssen’s etc etc, a trail of cheap punts, second/third fourth choice targets, and just absolutely all round laughable efforts by ENIC to actually give Pochettino the tools to get to the next level.

Kroenke took control of Woolwich in 2011.
Look at the preceding decade versus the decade since he took majority control.
By every measurable performance indicator, they have been worse.
One swallow doesn’t make a summer. Or a decade of them.

Yes, they caught lightning in a bottle with Poch the first time. Which is why we should never go back to him, the odds of repeating that are miniscule. It will end in tears guaranteed.

We don’t have the squad to play Pochball right now.
It’s a little too long in the tooth for the kind of pressing we saw in his early days and it burns a squad out quicker than it would otherwise. I also don’t think our pivots are good enough.

Do you think the fan’s expectations would allow a five year rebuild ?
(Not even going to get into the possible complications of an aging Joe Lewis sale in that period).
even with conte we need a rebuild, son and kane are both 30 and our best players

it will take 4--5 windows at least with genuine quality coming in

we need kane's successor and son's, not to mention lloris too

we have neglected to bring in the next set of talents to take over

kane could go next summer on a free, and who could we get if we do not make top four, we had a chance to get vlahovic when he was at fiorentina, we could of got in before milan to get maignan to replace lloris on the cheap. now these players will cost near 100 mill each same with leao etc. now we are suffering the effects of neglect

Mine was the semi final 1991 with that Gazza free kick & then winning in the final. I don’t care about others looking down their nose at a fa cup. I’d love us to win another one.
Part of the reason I have gone off football is that It’s more important to get 4th than win a fa cup :dawsonmean:
Nothing ever beat walking down Wembley Way on Cup Final Day. I’d take an FA Cup every few years over UCL qualification every time.
