Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I wouldnt say im Conte out yet as i think if you get him in you know what style he will play so you need to give him the players he requires, granted I think he should adapt until thats possible but he has his way of playing , which with the right players works so its either his way or nothing, Levy would have been well aware of that, what i think this team needs is some shock waves through the dressing room, if your Romero and you know your keeper is going to gift a goal every game and make your life harder surely that effects you as a defender, what about Kane, he knows Son is in shit form and the team is carrying him yet he plays any way?
He needs to drop the hammer on the team so to speak, and now is the perfect time to do it , sign a GK now and drop Hugo , make someone else captain , send a message that no one is undroppable and you play on current form not merit!
Son needs dropping as well, Start against City with Richi, Kane and Kulu and see what happens, it cant get anyworse surely?
If Conte isnt the man to be ruthless then get someone who is, I would rather play someone from the Youth team who is willing to die for the shirt on the pitch than some of the current plodders we have! Maybe this is the wake up call that Conte needs?

I think it's too easy to blame Levy. First of all, what's Paratici's role? Isn't he responsible for the players brought in since he arrived, and Conte? Shouldn't he do better with the players he got? It's not like he hasn't been backed since he arrived, and I'm sure the he has been involved in most signings. It's too easy and lazy to blame everything on Levy.
Levy hired him though, he knew who he was getting into bed with so to speak, Conte wouldnt have come unless he was told he would get what he wanted surely? Besides how many managers now have failed here, they cant all be the problem, maybe we need to look higher up at the board

It was Sissoko who stepped in when Son and Hugo had their halftime row during the Amazon season wasn't it?

I definitely think that we have a lack of father figures/leaders in the dressing room right now. During Poch and Jose we had not only Moussa, but Vertongen, Llorente and Dembele. Dier is said to have such attributes as well (everyone listens to him, he's able to communicate with everyone etc). But you can't just have one of those guys. You need a few in a team. That's why there's always talk about "senior counsils" at clubs like Chelsea when they hit their slumps.

And not to come off as a hater, but people say that Kane has leadership ability but I honestly don't see it.
Yes spot on. I even recall Sissoko joking that "they all come to dad for a hug". We had a few Men but we have a load of introverts. I'm not fully convinced by Dier either he seems to me like a quiet thoughtful lad likewise Ben Davis. We need to be very careful with how we go about our next tranche of recruitment its why Pickford and Hincapie scare me a bit.

We had alternative options in every position you mention there.... A lot would say better or more appropriate to the occasion too.

CB is an obstacle to us playing 4at the back; but 352 should be a license to unleash our most attacking WBs (Spence & Perisic) and also impress a degree of counter-balance to the MF battle, yet Conte refuses to go there.
Yes, and with son not playing on all cylinders I cannot see why. We have Kulusevski that sais his best position is no 10. And with a 3-5-2 i think he could easily claim the creative midfielder and still do the midfield defending job. With Richarlison now back and Bentancour soon back I think.

This team would have beaten yesterday's sorry excuse of a NLD team easily:

Forster
Romero - Dier - Lenglet
Spence - Bentancour-Kulusevski-Bisouma-Perisic
Kane - Richarlison

Motivation is such an underrated aspect of all professional endeavours. I'm not a psychic but so many of our players seem unhappy, right from the get go to to post match. Where is our team spirit. I wonder if life under the Conte-Levy era is miserable and players are just picking up a cheque.

When I saw the Woolwich team huddles it made me sad and jealous. I hate that. We used to have that togetherness.
I don't envy the goons team huddles. That is just contrived bullshit for me. However; I agree with your wider point regarding the morale at Spurs under Conte, Nuno and Jose.

The football is demoralising to watch and the attacking players will be suffering, more than most, playing this system, in my opinion.

The goal scoring chances don't come along as often as they used too and I have noticed both Son and Kane snatching at chances, taking a poor touch or missing opportunities they would previously have tucked away in happier times.

Conte's football is killing Spurs.

I am starting to think it is a deliberate act on his part.

Conte's mind is probably on his next project.

I have the same concern. And here I was hoping for the club to set a vision. And Paratici to have signed off on that vision. But I'm doubting this now.
My partner said something that made me laugh the other day. She was talking about how stubborn and slow to change Italian culture is. She goes "Primo, secondo, Catenaccio, we're Italians." I think you are quite correct to worry about how Paratici views the game.

Perisic is not even a good example to bash Conte with as they worked together at Inter before. But whatever...
I wasn't bashing Conte regarding Perisic.

It was your remarks about Perisic that I disagree strongly with.

First season in the Premier League and he is Spurs biggest assist contributor.

Conte leaving him out for Sessegnon was the last straw for me.

I assumed that Perisic probably had a knock and Conte had one eye on the City game but when he brought Perisic off the bench, when the game was already done, that was the end of that theory.

I now believe Conte is setting Spurs up to fail because he would prefer the sack than to continue working for ENIC.

The fact that tight wad will probably avoid sacking Conte, until the transfer window closes, is a further bone of contention with me.

I expect Poch or similar in when Conte is finally relieved of his duties.

That is at best.

At worst it will be Mason until the end of the season to save a few bob on managers wages.

It will come down to what the season ticket holders will accept and whatever Levy thinks he can get away with this time.

He's supposed to be a defensive manager, well we need defenders

we've conceded more goals than Everton and FUCKING WEST HAM!

EVERTON AND WEST HAM!

It's funny that no one was saying that last season when we were winning whilst putting 4 or 5 goals passed teams.
How would you know that, you weren't here? :kanehand:And there were a few of us back then but just like now it was hard to be heard above the apologists...:contearms:

The dressing room is rotten right now. And it wouldn't surprise me if we all found out who that core of rotten apples is.
That would be awesome as then we could compare it to the list of rotten players that fill that dressing room.

Dier is probably one of those guys that slots in well with a group of senior leaders. But is unable to handle it on his own.
