Indeed.
For me it's always been simple, Zaniolo is a long term target which means he's not an opportunistic cheapy like Trossard was. If they have had that long to watch him and gather info, that's enough for me to on board.

I think we will go for him and he will be the only one we bring in this window. With none of the right backs looking like they are close to leaving I’m sceptical anything will be done there.

We don't play in the 70m-100m range while all of our rivals routinely do.

By the time we make our first 80m or 90m or 100m signing, our rivals will be spending 130-150m.
Inarguably true, though I'd just observe that before Grealish, Pep's City hadn't made any of the 6 most expensive PL transfers and were head and shoulders above the rest of the league.

It doesn't always have to be about the one monster signing. It does always have to be about major investment in well-scouted players.

Yeah exactly because once you go to the rung below (40-60m) our rivals have been constantly adding to their squads with this type.

So far we have only signed Ndombele, Romero and Richarlison in that range. We are miles away.

Stability and focused incremental improvement will do me. It’s always about winning. The pain of losing is what makes us come back for more however. Pool and the goon cunts now have done okay ‘trusting a process’ and at first we’re not all that great under wankteter and plop.

My point was simply: if you’re a miserable frustrated cunt now, silverware won’t solve much. It will give us a big buzz for a day or a week, and life will continue. So enjoy the socialising with your mates that football affords, watching player like Kane and Kulu and back the club to deliver focused step by step change that will keep us in the mix for success.
Fantastic post.

We invested 1b into the stadium.
If ENIC really wanted to invest in 100m players, they absolutely could.

They just don't want to.
But not many teams do. Citeh only bought grealish but generally they pay on average £50M and that is done every season but buying sat 2/3 players. We don’t £100M player as we don’t have team ready for that sort of player. What we need to do like dippers do Some younger players, develop our own youth players and then sprinkle it 2 or 3 quality players every season. Also then move on certain players.
I’m sure a team / squad with spence, Sarr, white , udigio, Lulu, benta, Biss, Rom, Alfie May be richarlison and a few others would be a good starting point. Then add some top quality proven player hopefully with right age and we should be good. Add in a quality coach whose vision is fit a fast attacking team. Viola!

Let's not rewrite history. Fazio was useless. Going into the season, Vertonghen was not on top of his game at all. Rose definitely wasn't good at this time, he was passable. Bentaleb and Mason wouldn't even make our current bench.

Lamela started 25 league games. Chadli started 28. Kane started 28.

Yeah,it was 14/15.
That was a pretty bad season. A lot of fans forget the first third was boring dross. And then we ran out of puff at the end.
I think finishing 5th that season was a lot easier than even 6th this season.

1. I think this is exactly why Spurs fans are so frustrated. They did trust the process. But the success that was delivered was a bigger stadium and more income for the owners and none of the success on the pitch that Pool and the Goon cunts are able to enjoy. Spurs under ENIC aren't designed or able to deliver success at the end of the process. To make matters worse, they appointed people like Jose and Conte that aren't known for being about any process but winning. They chose to raise those expectations, reaped the benefits of those expectations with full stadiums and happy punters paying a tenner a pint, then failed to deliver on their end of the deal.

2. Instead of step by step up the escalator, we are permanently going step by step along one of those flat elevators you see at airports. Profits go up, football team goes nowhere. Kane isn't going to be part of the journey for long either, for exactly this reason.

Absolute fucking balderdash.

Would you say that only fans of City, Newcastle, Chelsea and United should be happy with the management of their clubs, because they have huge amount of money to spend? Every other clubs should be miserable see you next times?

The truth is we’re a lot closer to these sides than most other clubs. That is actually down to Levy. So I remain in it for the shits and giggles and have faith we will keep improving. Unless you’ve got some oils wells and unattached billions, in which case buy the club and play football manager with it. But I don’t think it would be more rewarding selling our soul.

The Levybots are on overdrive. Malfunctioning. They're still talking about incremental success whilst we go backwards, its incredible .. they need the programming updated.
If Kane being by an order of magnitude the greatest trophyless player in football history and Poch's Spurs being very clearly the greatest trophyless team in football history don't haunt you around every corner you are not a Tottenham fan, I'm sorry.

It's hard to look the scale of the tragedy here directly in the eye, I guess in that sense I can understand why some refuse to do it.
