Ex-Spurs Player Oliver Skipp

bk_spur bk_spur - Objectivity or just another bot?

No not a bot- not sure why you are trying to bait me over that like some kind of asshole. I just put a lot of these second order effects down to an overall failure of executive leadership.

Fuck me, it's not even like I made an argument about Levy hiring the medical team that fucked Skipp either, though undoubtedly one could be made there too.

I think he’s far too overrated. Did it ever occur to yous that the season he had at Norwich in the championship, he looked really good because that’s his level. Can’t ever deny is commitment and professionalism. He has a great attitude but he’s not a top 4 club midfielder. Not for me anyway.
What rubbish. If the Norwich season is all he had to his name your post would make some sense.

He played half a season under Nuno, some of the most disgusting, uncoordinated football, and was MOTM or near it practically every game.

He's an incredible tackler, who can see threats emerging and make the defensive run and protect the backline. His physicality is also up there, Adama Troare will never forget his encounter with Skipp.

While not a techical maestro, or the most nimble on his feet, he does have vision and a good passing range. I remember he set up several great chances in that half season, and Kane screwed up a lot of those due to his post-tantrum slump.

He’s basically Harry winks with a set of balls.

Come on, Skippy-boy!
I believe in you.

Should be properly rested and prepared to fuck over Milan midfield.

These 20+ games will be important for him! I really hope he does well and ups his levels!

Looks up before receiving the ball so he can play a quick forward pass. Doesn't need three touches to control a ball every time.

Honestly, what does PEH bring to the table over him?

Very mixed bag for me. Had some good periods in the match, but could not seem to physically be able to keep up with Milan players. Against Leao he might as well not have existed, and Tonali also skipped past him, which triggered Romero into making a very dangerous challenge. He also got bullied by De Ketelaere for a close range header that was their second best chance of the match.

He did have a few bad moments, but he is clearly a more intelligent player than Bentancur, and possibly PEH too.

I have nothing bad to say about his football IQ, but his athleticism worries me.
Not me, I started watching him in earnest since our CL game against Dortmund in 2018, when he played in the youth CL game.

Workrate is one of his strongest traits. He was the most physically dominant midfielder at Norwich, he was running around and smashing people like he was 6 foot 5.

Under Nuno he was also quite a hard hitter. I have faith in him in that regard if he can get some consistent game time.

i know that leao is a bit of a beast but it looked like a complete mismatch when he see he was faced up by skipp he just went past him with ease. skipp doesnt have the legs to play in a midfield 2 he has too much ground to cover, hell get overwhelmed by someone physically competent.

shame because hes a good little player and he doesnt shy away, hell gladly come off cut and brusied for the cause. think he needs to be in a 3 tho imo.

Is there another side in the PL that plays a CM pair?

He does have the legs for midfield 2. He covers ground just fine, he just doesn't have the top speed to go 1v1 against the likes of Leao.

As a CM he should be playing a supporting role to the WB/RCB to try and 2v1 and get the ball.
