There is an article on the Athletic today that states American private equity is looking to buy into the PL at the sharp end. Buy a big club, invest and reap the rewards for a period of time then get out with a profit. They don’t want middle of the road teams they want clubs like us, liverpool or Man Utd but they want clubs where there will be a profit. Sounds utterly horrendous.

If there was an overarching theme, it was that US-based private equity firms are interested in buying stakes in big clubs, groups of clubs or entire leagues — because they think there might actually be some money in it now, providing football becomes more like them — but they are not so bothered about owning small- or medium-sized clubs or doing anything for particularly long. And their most likely return on investment is still finding somebody else to pay even more for whatever they bought than they paid, rather than making some money along the way.
The problem is, so long as we have Airfixx 's, Stevee's, Shady's, Fok's, Chateau's, Guido's, Top Spurs' and the like populating our fanbase things will carry on as they are for many years to come

Despite being told repeatedly that the vast majority of fans want Enic gone, it's us that are stopping it.

They're not selling up.
All they need to do is keep the clubs market value high and use it as security to borrow money for non football deals.
Keep the club value at say £3bn and have 5 x £200m loans on 5 non football deals.
Each one of those provides just a 10% return on their investment and they make £100m profit across all 5. They do that without taking a penny "out" of THFC, but they do it by running Spurs as leanly as they can.
Think about it. They spend transfer fees but they neglect to buy players on higher wages with expensive agents.
A player, although costly to buy, is a potential asset to a club. The value of the squads transfer fees is a selling point. Their wage expenses aren't.
We're just a glorified guarantor.
