Plenty of room to get worse. Kane is leaving in the next couple of years for one. They've still got to replace Son and Lloris as well.
All the players who have kept us up there in the top 6 are on the edge of decline or leaving.

When we're out of the European places and Kane is signing for Newcastle on a free in July 2024, we'll miss today.
It also wasn’t so long ago when after working wonders and getting us into title races with a small budget Poch was rewarded with a self imposed transfer ban, the club has been on a downward spiral since 2017. That champions league run papered over a lot of cracks and this has been coming for a while.Poch’s reign was the second best period of league form in our history. That wasn’t so long ago.
It has been a mess since late 2019 though. 3.5 years of poor decisions and poor results. That’s not so long given the 18 years of excellent performance before it.
Clearly even my patience is not infinite. It would be easier for me if people gave Levy full credit for the exceptional work done over 18 years. The shrill voices don’t help.
I couldn’t care about what other fans think. Why do you? They’ll always find something.

I thought a diagram might be in order.Of course Levy takes responsibility for hiring Paratici.
Wait I’m confused… levy does or doesn’t have anything to do with the improved football performance we’ve seen since 2001?
If he does then you’ll give him credit.
If he doesn’t - then he doesn’t impact football performance?
Yep. Absolute minimum the crap decisions started in the summer of 2018 with no transfers in or out despite the big rebuild plea. It could probably be traced back to the summer of 2016 and not signing top targets like Mane, Wijnaldum and Zaha. We still had a good side and momentum and that carried us through but it was falling apart by the champions league run in 2019 and hasnt improved since. It also wasn’t so long ago when after working wonders and getting us into title races with a small budget Poch was rewarded with a self imposed transfer ban, the club has been on a downward spiral since 2017. The fuck ups, the lies and the incompetence of this board started long before 2019.
I see so many fans say we should cash in on Kane and Son...and what? Trust Levy to replace them? He spent £50m on Dembele's replacement. He spent £50m on Eriksen's replacement. £30m on Rose's replacement. £60m on Kane's understudy/potential successor this season. Almost £200m on 4 players who have done nothing.
I would rather trust in Kane and Son for one more year than trust Levy to replace them.

We're still running on the fumes of the Poch Miracle. Not for much longer.
Who on earth are you calling a dumbass. He signed up at a relatively young age when he believed the club was on the up, and his dumbass brother decided a 6 year contract was a good thing.
Now the clubs in the fucking shit & going nowhere and he's stuck here. Which is why you don't sign 6 year contracts.
Where'd you get that photo mate? Was he driving in Invisible Joe$ backyard?
I am sorry when was the 18 years of excellence? ............................The Poch era was good, as was Redknapp, you could argue that maybe Jol was ok. other than that it has dirge. Santini? Ramos? AVB ? Sherwood., the proposed Stratford move.Poch’s reign was the second best period of league form in our history. That wasn’t so long ago.

The period of ENIC-driven performance improvement for Spurs was from like 2004-2012. We were successfully de-Evertonized through rational squad investment during that period.
You could go further back than that. Freebie has-beens Saha and Nelson when Redknapp had us on the verge of a title challenge.Yep. They’re very interested in making ridiculous comments though AMIRIGHTNobody is interested in giving Levy a pat on the back when we're in the state we are now. He got plenty of them when we were good. Go look at the state of the thread made when he signed a few mediocre players for Jose. Plenty of Levy love from the past when fans could still stand the sight of him.
Now we're shit and fumbling from one disaster to the next, so no the fans don't fancy talking about how great Levy was.
billiant!I thought a diagram might be in order.
The overall shape of this gold price chart shows an uncanny resemblance to on field success since the 80s
Just wiggle the time domain a bit.
The peaks of the 80s, followed by the humdrum 90s, then steady improvement since 2001.
That big peak is 2019, and it's downhill since then.
Overall in better shape than 2001, but who wants to celebrate that in the middle of a downturn.
I’m defending the clubs record. The club’s league form under Poch was the second highest period of finishes in its history. It followed a period of sustained improvement that any organisation would be proud of.I am sorry when was the 18 years of excellence? ............................The Poch era was good, as was Redknapp, you could argue that maybe Jol was ok. other than that it has dirge. 18 years of excellence, just not true. Also why are looking to ignore the last three and half years to evaluate his performancer?
I will never understand the people like you and your need to defend Levy,
