Well I think the fact he would have taken 600 k tells me all I need to know
Levy was listening to Franco Baldini at the time.

The 'Magnificent 7' transfer record breaker.

Levy keeps the overall wage bill low and lowers supporter expectations with his methods.

The consensus now want 'a project' because Spurs 'do that better'.

ENIC's attempt at 'win now' was insincere.

Just like Levy and everything else involving ENIC's dalliance with professional football.

THFC need serious win now owners to retain their best players and recruit more like them.

The worst in the world? Really?

I was an ST holder at the old place, Wembley and the new stadium.

Are you honestly going to tell me the Paxton and the west stand are places they were absolutely bouncing week in week out?
No

I’ve hated going to the ground this season. It’s fucking awful. Perhaps it’s the football, but I can’t help think it’s down to the resale of tickets meaning it’s a massive neutral venue. Even aspects that were original and fresh like getting a decent beer for a decent price have disappeared, or worn off.

It’s 100% been more of a negative than a positive for the players this season. No support, quick to turn and boo, horrible

I’ve stopped going so will take your word for it on our atmosphere.

Bit you’re not going to every other stadium to compare to either.

Modern football is quiet.

Someone posted on here a video of the Celtic managing shooting at his players. You can hear a pin drop.

Anfield gets laughed at for its atmosphere doesn’t it?

It’s not just a lack of singing, that’s always been the case in certain games it’s the general apathy and disinterest. No buzz

Wow!!!

The world's most profitable sports teams

And 0 trophies for 15+ years. A first XI including Dier, Forster, Davies and Lenglet.
And no European football.

Staggering

And still people here will defend it.
Unreal that year on year on year we act skint.
The only sliver of defence here is FFP. If we're earning so much more than City then they're breaking the rules.
Maybe we need some more creative accountant's than the bellends we've got (and there's a lot of qualified accountants at the top of our club)

It’s almost like there’s more to it than your simplistic take.
It doesn't make good reading though mate, we all know how much revenue spurs produce.
Yet it is no relative to, what is happening on the pitch, a huge disparity in success on and off the pitch.
We all know that, the club hides from success pitch wise, and that will not change whether, we get a a dodgy Aussie, a German or Spanish manager, they will all be held back from full achievement.

It doesn’t look good but it’s clickbait without the context. It’s operating income over 3 years which is NOT the same as our capacity to spend. It feels bad if you don’t know what operating income is but as you can guess, it would be ludicrous to suggest we are in a position to spend more than any other football team in the world over three years. That alone should show you that it’s clickbait.

I think the same poster just posted another link to say we broke into the top 10 for global revenue… are we tenth or first in the world? The thing being measured matters.

Yet another poster said that we are the third biggest net spenders in the PL over several years.

Our spending is not the issue. We’ve spent a lot since the stadium opened. Our problem is how it’s spent

Fully agree with the two lines in bold.

Somehow there is this weird logic that Jose and Conte = bad so Luis Enrique and even Nagelsmann are too big-time. They are 4 different human beings, we know almost nothing about LE and JN but just assume that they are like Jose and Conte.

And the sum total of win-now under Jose and Conte was basically paying expensive managers to work with a top 6 budget/wage bill and expect miracles.

Forget the budget, how about they actually put a football structure in and show any signs of real ambition.

I think we are capable of spending more and better than we do, and not fall foul of FFP.
Levys ability to generate money, is not in question, but providing a successful is in question, and after 23 years we continue to wait and wait.

Agree

But as a sidenote, how come Dallas Cowboys make so much money and are so unsuccessful. When was the last time they won the Superbowl, or even the conference they play in.

Seems like Dallas are the Tottenham of the NFL. Just shows it's not just about the money.

To be clear, the NFL is just a radically different system, and one in which money can't dominate. (Which is not all it's cracked up to be, by the way)

Having said that, the funny thing is the Cowboys similarly are run by a self-aggrandizing CEO who is much too involved in football decision making for his own good, has increasingly become an anachronistic dinosaur, and relies on credit for his mold-breaking stadium building accomplishment for people to take him seriously as a businessman.

What would be the point of spending more if you're unable to spend it properly.

You see what happens when you end up buying shit it creates a bottleneck of players we want to get out the club, look how much deadwood we have and how many players we had out on loan last season for example, you can't keep operating at a loss just because you have money, it's a foolish way to operate.

People just need to stop focusing on the spend and the fees, it's a nonsense argument that lacks a whole load of context.

We haven’t been waiting 23 years. You’ve been waiting 4. It was a big success over 19 years with consistent progress made on the pitch.

I do agree we can spend better and when we do I’d want us to spend a little more.

Mate it doesn't matter who, we buy, either spend well or buy cheap nothing works, or hasn't to date.
The club are a mess, caused by a number of reasons, which have been done to death.
